Nobody including the Medias is prepared to admit… The Constitution is a product of its TIME and the prevailing mens rea of the Founders. i.e., they were afraid of Losing their personal Wealth, Power, Privilege, and (entitled) Prestige. From which the Plutocratic money can control politics and legislation (see the expectation of the new Congress freshmen d much of their time soliciting [rich] donors. Clearly a a gate way into transactional demands by the Donors, anti Democracy on several levels).
The political influence also determines Who or what heads up PUBLIC Service and regulatory entities. Rendering them Partisan entities. Most tellingly anti democracy, are those public necessaries that Plutocrats want as capitalist Cash cows, see Senator Scott from Fl. (in a democracy he would be ineligible for any elected office) PS so would Trump for his multi Bankruptcies. And multi breaches of laws. Likewise, the partisan manner for What should be impartial/ and apolitical. i.e., Law enforcement (policing), Prosecution, Justice (judges and SCOTUS JUSTICES) which are politically appointed and are influenced by unelected entities (Heritage Foundation). SCOTUS is unique among those nations that genuinely claim their intent is Democracy, they are alone in not having an externally imposed and monitored/ enforced Ethics code. They are in fact an oligarchy, a law unto its self. Not impartial and Definitely not Democratic. Where is the separation of powers?
It was SCOTUS who rummaged through the trash of history to justify over turning Rowe V Wade, and fancifully ruled that guns were a right, (despite 2nd amendment STATES there is a CONDITION or that right.) And let's not forget the Logically/ legal impossibility of freedom of speech = the Absolute RIGHT to lie, misinformation, disinformation which LITERALLY impossible NOT TO DENY other People's Rights when doing so.
I can't envisage a better time for Truth than in the medias, give the intention of their protection is to act as the eyes voice of the PEOPLE and the reliable source of truth. Likewise by Politicians, political speech and by Non-living, non-entitled to vote entities. This would reduce the Extremism in Public discourse. When all is said and done, Extremism is by, for the benefit and led by extremes (read 5-7% at either end of the spectrum of opinions). All it does is give the extremes disproportional power.
Consider this, the right to seek an abortion is supported by over 67% of the people. So how come it got overturned?
Other real Democracy have proportionally enforceable guide rails that allow for exchange of POV, just not presented as Truth.
Likewise, the gutting of the right to vote contrary to the evidence, does NOT have within a bull's roar majority approval.
In short, I would advocate America do what is reasonably possible to start with enforcing the constitution as writ for a start, adding filters to those who can stand for elected office.
