This was right on. Thank you. Boomers take giant craps on their own kids like this is evil. It’s like eating your own so you feel better about yourself.

So young but so wise and quite attractive too.
Good for you

@TheLordNugget Says:
Anybody who solely blames Zoomers is an idiot. Likewise, anybody who solely blames Boomers is a mindless buffoon. Truth is that every generation along the way had a hand in it. Gen X carried the torch that the Boomers ran with. Millennials then took the torch from them and ran with it. Zoomers are just next in line.
Lifting yourself up by your bootstraps technically is possible for anybody. The problem is that our current society only has enough room for a modest percentage to actually see significant results from this. The vast majority will be caught by the design of the system, to be a mindless worker drone. That is what our education system and our society at large is set up for. People like to sh*t on the notion as if it has never been a thing when people literally make it happen for themselves even today. Like I said though, "modest percentage".

I also think that just first and foremost lending an ear to someone expressing herself (or himself) is a basic. This person expressing herself about her 9 to 5 schedule is not attacking anyone. She is just sharing her issues. The Internet could be a place to discuss constructively and make each other feel better at scale. It does not have to be used to massively thrash people when they struggle. In this specific issue, the urge to compare one’s hardships with this person’s can prevent us from seeing a serious issue (e.g., the ones mentioned by Lauren).

@jessehutchings Says:
Supply and demand doesn't come anywhere close to describing current economics in America. Today, all the rich and successful people you have ever seen are either public personalities that get paid for having opinions or they are merely the marketing and finance teams for the transaction between American buyers and foreign manufacturers .. or real estate crooks
@jessehutchings Says:
Boomers were born into a society that was built for their opportunities in every possible way. We were born into a society built for foreigners and corporations

Thank you! It really upset me watching this, and seeing people drag her. It reminds me of how I felt when I needed to work 2 jobs for a while in my 20s, or when I was working full time and going to college full time, didn't have a car, transit takes 2-3 times longer or more. It was so frustrating and draining. There were many tears. My church family were worried, they made me take a break from worship team because they saw I was falling apart and coming in super early to practice was not a good idea, when I was getting 2-3 hours of sleep a night. I just wanted to give this poor girl a hug and a cup of tea.

5:02 No no no no stop right there. Women marry that way, men don't. This is simply false. A man with a good job would marry a woman flipping burgers if she were kind, feminine, and willing to be on his program. It's females that think and move that way you're describing, and I notice women often do this. They extrapolate how women themselves think and move to the rest of human beings, but that's not how men deal which is the issue at the end of the day with ALL of these social ills. Men don't give a damn about a woman's so called "career". They care if she will make a good wife and mother which most today simply don't. That's the cold hard truth we don't want to acknowledge today. I'm not one of these "red pill" guys or one of these cringy M.G.T.O.W men however this is one thing they say that is 110% true. Men don't give a damn about a fraction of the thing's women seem to care about in the men. Which is why family is collapsing. The standards on men to be what women want is so off compared to their male counterparts who demand far far less. Worldly accomplishments like income, education, and possessions have pumped and inflated women egos to the point of no return. If it weren't true, then we would see 85% of all divorces initiated by the women themselves. Not the men.
@hira6560 Says:
honestly, the whole "millenials/zoomers are just lazy" gives the same energy as "men are just horny pigs". Neither of those generalizations are okay. But the people who come after you with pitchforks for saying one of those statements, are the same ones saying the other statement. The hypocrisy is just... i give up on humanity. I really do.
@dymphnatherese2595 Says:
Lauren, if the right listen to you on this, there’s great hope for us zoomers. Mocking will only push us away from the truth and towards the preachers of horrid ideologies. Above all, we ought to have charity. Thank you for this.
@dymphnatherese2595 Says:
What she’s going through is so painful for a young woman, that anyone would criticize her is so disappointing. As we judge, we shall be judged. This girl should be treated with mercy and a lot of people need to check themselves.

@derekroberts1693 Says:
I think mockery can be helpful but it does have to target the cause. Point out how ridiculous something is.
She probably could find a job that is closer to home. One of the whatever generation's biggest problems is that all of them want to live in condos downtown in the biggest cities in America and they don't want that to be totally unreasonable for a recent college graduate who hasn't even gotten their first raise yet. She even knows that is going to be a comment on her video, "why don't you just move downtown" and she preempts it, but she knows because that is what everyone her age is obsessed with and of course that is the first "solution" they're going to think of. Even her working downtown is just... like trying to get one foot in the door of living downtown. There are probably most certainly jobs within 15 minutes of where she lives, she isn't *that* far from a major city. She's in a suburb with a population much bigger than the town I live in, how many careers only exist in the downtown of a major US city?

@DocFlamingo Says:
Yeah, her delivery was a huge part of the reaction but it SHOULD be. I'm autistic and work in a chaotic, deafening, factory environment. I'm on the verge of a full-blown nervous breakdown by 2nd break every day; day after day. A work day doesn't go by where I don't seriously consider going out to my car and blowing my brains out. Tough shit for me. If I freak out about it I'm going to be mocked for it. If you can't control yourself that's what happens.
@Event_Horizon14 Says:
Lauren, you are one of the only voices of reason out there and your content truly illustrates why I no longer follow any commentators from the mainstream conservative movement. They have a rigid set of talking points they always resort to, they're painfully opinionated, allow for no nuance or compromise, it's you agree with everything we say or you're a leftist lunatic. It's gotten to a point where I honestly can't see a difference between MSM and conservative media apart from steadfastly holding on to their views and throwing tantrums when the other side don't agree. They're all in it for the profit and rehash the same talking points just to keep their audiences happy. There's no real debate or active search for solutions, no attempts to inspire change, just name-calling and shaming.
@brandongreen1177 Says:

@misterrodrigo1980 Says:
Read Ayn Rand's essay "The New Left". She identifies exactly when the shift started to happen (the 1970s) and how many destructive leftist ideologies were masquerading as "virtous social movements" that would shape the world in the following decades.
@caryharper9190 Says:
Yes! This is when conservatives and libertarian's should take a bow. She figured it out by living life. Without having to be told. These things she says should be commended. And should be adopted into the movement. But she didn't create the problem. No those of us older than her. Caused this problem. Thank you.

As a 70 year old boomer Lauren’s perspective got me thinking. I would have said suck it up before but after her videos I can see the way all the liberal changes have made things incredibly hard to grow up with crime, race, gender and all the other nonsense they’ve been indoctrinated with.
@valor5985 Says:
This is spot on. Muh internet bootstrap conservatives have whined for years about the state of the modern world, but oh boy if anyone else tries to do the same without simultaneously shoehorning baseline conservative talking points, then all hell breaks loose.
@evad7933 Says:
Live more life (you really aren't much more than a 'kiddo', yourself) get some 9-5 employment and then put the boots into someone like this - if you dare. Right-wing thinkers are usually those who've been endowed with enough of the type of personal capital required to pro$per in the world and who have scant sympathy for those who have (by fate) much less. Interestingly, most of the conservative Youtubers have this perception and yet also have church affiliations. To the best of my understanding Christ was very much a Rawlsean, left wing thinker. This makes C-teamers, such as Candace Owen, Lauren and Ben Shapiro, hypocrites.
@evad7933 Says:
You are mocking someone in a 9-5 situation when you have probably never been in that position yourself. What do you suggest she does? Get a Youtube channel and produce a combination of poorly thought out social commentary (hot air) and eye candy?:)
@notloki3377 Says:
I struggle with this myself, being a disillusioned millenial/zoomer cusp. It can be very easy to judge people who embrace pathologies like antinatalism, but I know that this stuff actually comes from shame and being unable to live up to the historically unreasonable standards set by boomers and the media.

@kevinclause4p55p5 Says:
I have a solution. Instead of soending $14k per year per student for 13 years, we give them $182k when they turn 18.
@kevinclause4p55p5 Says:
Blurting out solutions might help somebody, so ill try.
Have you done the math? If your city job makes 15 dollars an hour, you get paid for 8 hours but it takes 10 from your day, then you are really making 15*8/10= $12 dollars an hour. Perhaps working in the suburbs for $12.50 makes more sense.
Perhaps engaging in the gig economy makes sense in your area. Picking your own hours is nice. Theres jobs laying around everywhere if you look. Maybe you can sweep and repaint your neighbors basement. Maybe someone needs their locks changed. Its just a screwdriver and a trip to a hardware store. Your neighbor's oil change takes a 10mm, oil wrench, and 2 jack stands. If valvoline charged him $100, you can do it for $80, and of you take an hour (including transit), you just made $40 an hour.
And yes cost of living in cities is stupid. They really are fleecing you.
