But we need to have systems in place. On one hand, yes parents need to have authority over kids. But how do we deal with child abuse that happens inside families? Okay now, um...the menendez brothers killed their abusers OUT OF FEAR. Had they been the opposite gender, their verdict would've been SO different, they 100% would've been out by now.

I watch it for the production, cinematic value, actors and then on the other side, to find out the story and judge for myself how and why it ended up happening. I take your advice on getting all of our information from Netflix or Peacock or whoever. Your information about Freud is interesting for sure. BUT, if you have never been a victim of chronic sexual abuse from a very early age AND also physical and emotional abuse as well you cannot understand the pain, the psychosis that it could create, the fact that it never goes away and affects every entire thing that you do for the rest of your life - I believe that they had so much rage, anger and that they totally lost it because they perhaps thought that they were going to be killed themselves when they told their Monster of a "father" that they were going to expose him and destroy his life. I believe that they have been in prison for a period of time that would cover the murdering of their horrible parents; agree that they should be held accountable to a certain degree for that crime which is heinous. BUT, they have had their entire lives destroyed because of their parents. Forget the college crap and the stealing - they were living with a wealthy father and mother and they probably basically didn't care. You have no HOPE of anything without Jesus first of all but their situation was unbelievable even if it's only partially accurate. I imagine their grief was delayed or not present due to their level of intense relief and freedom from prison of abuse at the hands of the people who are supposed to love and care and protect you at any cost. And if it's true, their Mother had knowledge of the abuse and did nothing. She was jealous that they were getting any attention from her husband who was also having affairs and sodomizing other young men as well! They have paid their price and have been productive citizens in prison from what I have read. They should be free for as long as the Lord will allow and be with their families who actually DO love them. God have Mercy!
