Canada’s province of British Columbia is in the process of falling into the same election integrity morass as US2020 and US2024. Featuring mailed-in absentee ballots, an entire week of voting - "Voting Day" is now "Voting Week" - and even paper ballots being transported off-site to be "stored" at the private dwellings of election officials begween each day of voting week. The incumbent socialist NDP are supposedly neck and neck with the conservatives, recounts currently underway a week after the end of voting. Same story different book.

It is obvious that whoever has designed the extermination of democracy in this country is very smart, and since the laws of our country were made for decent honest people the breaking of law is VERY SIMPLE. There is not enough policing for corrupt politicians and law breakers.
We have to give it to them, we are still arguing the logic of using ID when these people thought of it decades ago, they designed the arguments and the ideology that they were going to use and taught them in school, through media, social media, etc.
Very smart plan and is working.
What to do now?
Start designing the restauration of it starting from scratch.

When it became POSSIBLE To have electronic voting, we hurried to get there first. One of the problems with the "First no matter what" mindset is that it leaves no time to consider the downside of doing whatever thing it is we are doing. In NZ we are sent an ID card with our details on it weeks before the election. On voting day you take the ID card show it to an official who checks your name off the national info list and then you go behind a voting booth, vote and place your slip into a box depending on your electorate area that you live in. No one else comes into contact with your vote slip until it's counted manually at the end of the voting day. I have voted and I have also been a vote counter it is a fair and just system. No ID, no vote though you can vote with ID in a different electorate area if you're out of town at the time etc.
