I was in the US Navy in ASW Anti Submarine Warfare and I can't tell you how or why but I knew that they knew that sub imploded. Because it was under several atmospheres it was very loud. Whereas a plane hitting the surface of the water would barely make a sound.

We were going to sit and wait on that info for a week or so because we don't need our adversaries knowing just how good our skills are at detecting and locating such an event. This guy is not very smart and is stretching to create a story that isn’t there.
First, the Titan submersible had a mother ship that was tracking it, so they knew fairly accurately where it was. Sure, underwater acoustic sensors heard it and could tell generally where it was.
Second, there are few sensors in the Indian Ocean. The acoustic arrays are oriented toward threat countries, mostly China and Russia. Their submarines do not patrol in the southern Indian Ocean. So, no one is really listening to that area.

You could make the argument that the Sub imploded under very high pressure making the implosion very loud. But even a triple 7 and it’s size just scratching the top of the ocean couldn’t produce an underwater sound wave that’s nearly as loud as Titan‘s.
