I can't wait for prohibition 2.0, seriously I think this can only have bad outcomes, you can't just get rid of something that people had and not expect them to seek it out through alternative methods. The amount of people that consume porn is insane, and having tens of millions of sexuality frustrated men will most likely have consequences, I'm very concerned with the unintended consequences that might come from this.
When I was a younger, porn was more of a tool for me, when your hormones are running wild you will absolutely start to think with you balls instead of your brain. It allowed me to alliveate those feelings so I could actually talk to women like a normal human being without any motives, and genuinely get to know them. I recognise this isn't the same experience for every young male, but it definitely was for me, it's just easier to get to know someone when you aren't thinking of those things.
Then there is the actual adult males, what happens when his woman doesn't want to do the deed, what happens if they're in a relationship where it doesn't happen at all, some people will obviously turn to porn to alleviate these feelings, and I don't know what kind of impact will come from removing that option. This isn't 1960, people aren't getting married at 18 anymore, what are all of these men going to do when if their only option for alleviating those feeling are gone.
I understand that porn can impact people negatively, but so does alcohol, cigerates, sugar and other ingredients in food, soda, and many other things. Where do we draw the line, should the goverment get involved in everything that has negative effects on people, or should it be up to the people and parents to be responsible for their own lives and the lives of their children? I personally think that banning it is the wrong course of action, and the ID verification poses it's own risks.
If you see this let me know your opinion on this, I'm really curious about what people think.
