How about this for changing the course of asteroids, Rock climbing equipment, metal stakes, or metal that will expand inside of a hole in a rock, attach that to a rocket thruster and gentle push the asteroid the direction you want. Or grab a smaller asteroid and bounce it into the asteroid you want to change the course off. Like the way a pool table works.
