@nolan6137 Says:
Many have speculated that the Starship Troopers lunar defence base allowed the astroid to impact Earth to boost the zeal of the citizens.
@BFG_10G Says:
Your mom is a gamer? Interesting.
@Erduk Says:
I would rather live in the Heinlein's Starship Troopers universe than the one we have now run by Marxists
@shadowfire246 Says:
Starship troopers book > the movies
@QuercusRobur44 Says:
Your mum plays it? Wow!
@abramswee Says:
You have been found guilty of treason to Democracy!
@moonasha Says:
the interesting question to me is, does a hostile universe with hostile enemies justify such a hostile system of government?
@mkv2718 Says:
Holy crap, I JUST realized the emblem of Super Earth is just a modified UN emblem… ….for anyone who thinks this game is just a parody of ‘murica
@simondepass Says:

@bradley4706 Says:
The clip at the end is just great ❤️
@dotmadhack Says:
Helldivers government is a dystopia no doubt in my mind. Starship Troopers, at least the book, is a regulated paradise.
@Krysnha Says:
Hell divers is a fun game, but, when you think it, it is true, Hell divers is a satire of democracy, meanwhile starship troopers, the movie is a fail sattire of facism,
@bentinbama1 Says:
Its so cool that your mom plays with you 😎. Im jealous
@rederickfroders1978 Says:
Both is fascism in disguise. But most people dont see it
@michaelmutranowski123 Says:
managed democracy sounds alot like communism
@antcow1239 Says:
The helldivers would obliterate the Starship troopers bugs
@MrKhanMan1510 Says:
The question I have is whether or not the criticism of western democracies found in Helldivers is intentional or accidental. It's entirely possible that this is a scenario not unlike the Barbie movie where you have a writer trying to criticize something that they don't fully understand and they end up unintentionally criticizing their own side instead, and their satire has the opposite intended effect. It appears intentional, but you never know in today's world.

@user-bd1hl2tu9f Says:
Good video only one critique in the book our very first introduction to the troopers is them invading an alien planet I'm not sure how you'd get they aren't expansionist the beach the dad tries to take the kid too is on another world too . . . Just my 2 cents
@michaelsproule32 Says:
ANd I find that I've had to subscribe the Sargon... AGAIN. Why do you do this, Youtube? Why?
@leesnotbritish5386 Says:
Main problems with troopers for me is that the government would only care about citizens, but would draw from the entire population. So instead of welfare there would be pensions for government jobs, universities for the children of citizens, neighborhoods of only citizens would be better policed, etc. Adam’s said that any group holding absolute power will become tyrannical and I agree, legislative power should be divided by the citizens and a lower house elected by the general population
@ACWells-vi3re Says:
Citizen federation all day and all night Service guarantees citizenship
@KarleonBR Says:
What kind of dog water opinion is this that think starship troopers and helldivers is not making fun of fascism Oh, Sargon, lol
@dfly27485 Says:
You know, I hate to point it out, but super earth is lucky that they have armed guard patrolling the streets of their cities if giant bugs butchering citizens in their driveway is becoming an all too common occurrence. Just food for thought.
@ColonelBragg Says:
Holy crap it looks like this channel has been revived
@AmentiVZ Says:
One of the Ship TV ads you hear mentions the celebration of "voting day" where Super Earth celebrates the IDEA of voting and the disclaimer states there is no actual voting, holiday, or time off for voting day.
@SirMattomaton Says:
Just one small disagreement... I'd assert that it IS a "Hyper Satirical" approach to *America* . Not at all the US of today... But the America that existed during the post 9/11 to GWAT (Global War Against Terror) decade. It was a patriotic and rather homogeneous time for us here. But had severely dark dystopian undertones initiated the massive surveillance state from the ironically titled "Patriot Act." The TSA groping young women and children and calling it "security." Then hearing politicians spout on and on about spreading "freedom and democracy" to the Middle East. While horror stories of drone strikes on preschools and weddings mistaken as terrorist targets. I think so many love the game, not only because it's incredibly fun, but because it's a sort of catharsis for those that had to live through the US military industrial complex height of absolute narrative bullsh*t.
@Butane9000 Says:
There's one complete criticism you can make of HellDivers 2 and that's the bugs and technical issues with the game. If the game wasn't nearly as fun as it is it would've died a long time ago.
@degenerate5865 Says:
"The citizens federation of starship troopers is a libertarian paradise." Bro I just got flashbanged by words.
@ethanforster Says:
Pretty sure all the Helldivers are actually clones
@Kingedwardiii2003 Says:
1:35 LOL
@333teapot Says:
Correct citizen, the federation never lied to you. That meteor definitely came from the bugs
@Phoenixryu Says:

@KraigFang Says:
I wish we could have a true communist world where everyone can be free and get food. I wish we could even out the huge differences between 1st and 3rd world nations! So that’s why I think we should keep mating with each other until we’re all the same “color” and stop fighting over religion! Every country who’s been communist so far are just dictators and they get to live rich while their nation starves or lives so much worse. I’m not an actual communist, I’m technically an anarchy guy. But I don’t mean world wide riots! A true anarchy would mean no leaders, we just get along and no more sides and fights about red/blue politics! But hey, that’s like from Star Trek or The Jetsons cartoon lol 😂
@autumnberend828 Says:
And here i thought Super Earth was Space Texas.
@ryanschnabel9327 Says:
dystopia?! That sounds awfully undemocratic sir...
@logantrainharder2098 Says:
Welcome back Sargon!
@seneca983 Says:
8:15 I haven't played Helldivers 2 but based on your description Super Earth doesn't seem to resemble the EU at all.
@dthendrick1 Says:
My favorite part about things like Starship Troopers (Movie, not the book), Fallout New Vegas, Farcry 5, and Helldivers 2 is the leftist seething. They love to say things like, "You know that's mocking capitalism, Christianity, or America, right?" and completely lose their minds when "right wingers" fully embrace these games or movie.
@maccrusherxxx153 Says:
Managed democracy or rebranded communism using a facade of pseudo-democracy. Embarrassing analysis for, a European. Would you like to know more? James Lindsay.
@1Caja Says:
8:20 Well... considering Biden's administration (tried to?) established their own actual ministry of truth (Disinformation Governance Board) and meddle in the affairs of the states quite heavily, for example "not allowing" the closure of Texas' border, I think the comparision isn't as apt anymore or at least it won't be given enough time. F the EU though
