He's trying to make it seem like the civil war was fought to free the slaves, and that's not why it was fought. Did it play a part? i like to think so because i believe not all white people are racist pieces of shits, but it wasn't the main reason. Abraham Lincoln said himself "if i can save the union and not free all the slaves i would do that, but if i could save the union, and free all the slaves that also i would do." Abraham Lincoln new freeing the slaves was just extra brownie points plus he could use them to help in the war against the south, might i add over 200k black men fought in the civil war.
