Shame on the US, for repaying Spain’s support in the Revolutionary War with the betrayal of 1898.

Enough of these fourth rate academics. McKinley administration marked the nadir of robber baron ownership of American government. He was literally bought and paid for by J.P. Morgan and John d Rockefeller who between the two of them raised an enormous sum enabling him to defeat a great real populist William Jennings Bryan only saving grace was that he picked Theodore Roosevelt as his running mate to sideline him but as the great George I gurdjieff once observed he who is clever is stupid and mckinleys move backfired big time when he was assassinated and Roosevelt inaugurated the progressive era in government to the eternal benefit of the usa

I am an alum of Allegheny College, where McKinley attended college. There is an administration building on campus named after him.

Yes, the President who robbed us Filipinos of the glorious victory over Spain after the Philippine Revolution. The atrocities propagated in the islands during his term were terrible, and that made him my most despised American President. He's one of the reasons why my country was heavily Americanized with no actual cultural identity after being colonized for over 40 years. Probably worse than Harding, Hoover, or Johnson. Fun Fact: They preferred calling it "Philippine Insurrection" rather than "Philippine-American War". Condescending at its finest.
@FlyingBoer Says:
This guy started a war with Spain for no reason
@bobbiemanueldelapena4997 Says:
Ah, William McKinley... The president who annexed the Philippines... Because hi European friends feared that an independent Philippines would inspire European colonial holdings in Southeast Asia would rise up against their European colonial overlords...
@suijuris1750 Says:
Horrible Prez that ushered in our still-ongoing, immoral, suicidal Age of Empire. For God’s sake, he gave us our first Vietnam-like quagmire in the Philippine “pacification.” And tariffs are insanely stupid, if your goal is a rise in living standards for all.
@nr63kish Says:
I love history, and learning it, and I learned a lot from this video.
@pauljudielaugusto1061 Says:
Oh that guy who has so many blood of Filipinos in his hands and a Fort which is now Bonifacio was named after him.
@tbirdUCW6ReAJ Says:
He sounds underrated
@kma3647 Says:
Sound money, gold-standard, America-first trade policies to protect American labor, reticence for war, promotion of actual equality for all Americans - sounds like a darn good president. No wonder the crazies wanted him gone. The financial policies can be mind-numbing to learn about during the rest of the discussion of the Reconstruction era and the Robber Barons, but it's critically important. This is all pre-Fed, and it set the stage for us to store up the wealth that turned us into a superpower. These policies work. We should understand it in context. Obviously the situation today is radically different, but it is clear he is a very much overlooked president in the common telling of our history.
@DESKWERKSJB Says:
Yes. Ok. Agreed. But, what about his alleged catering to the ultra-rich "robber Barrons" of the day (Rockefeller, Carnegie, Morgan, etc...)? Many historians believe he was actually a "bought" president, paid for by previously mentioned magnates, to keep the riches (and unfair labor practices) flowing. Upon promotion from Vice to President, Roosevelt immediately filed suits against these men, which resulted in the breakup of "Standard Oil", etc...
@chrislohmann1643 Says:
McKinley presided over the overthrow of Hawaii,where his predecessor Cleveland deemed it illegal.
@koreanelvis Says:
I HONESTLY THINK: that this video is an opinion piece MORE THAN FACT. I graduated as a history major, and I still study history in my spare time. I say: this is MOSTLY a matter of perspective.
@alekhidell7068 Says:
“Death by Socialism” by JM Rock has an excellent chapter on the subject of the Civil War. I highly recommend it.
@naturetrails8357 Says:
McKinley was a very underrated President in history and after he was shot forgave the man that shot him, over shadowed by TR and the fact that he changed the money which naturally would upset the deep state. No wonder why crooked Obama had the mountain name change.
@selfcontrol9982 Says:
These American heroes are great leaders.
@THECAREFULMAN Says:
Thank you very much. I guess 60 minutes wasn’t exactly right in its portrayal of PragerU!
@craigmignone2863 Says:
TR was a good pal with Wilson the proto-fascist and father of the modern Collectivist Democrat Party.
@JC-hi8fk Says:
McKinley wouldn't have been shot if there was gun control!
@JC-hi8fk Says:
Obama should be on Mount Rushmore instead!
@katemaloney4296 Says:
Being the son of a religious abolitionist mother, Major (President) McKinley would have declined to have his face on Mt Rushmore, as it would be a graven image. This is only my humble opinion.
@IHaveTheSchwartz Says:
He has the Highest Peak in America. His namesake is fine.

Should have mentioned he attended Allegheny College.
@NotTheBomb Says:
Screw McKinley. Man was submissive to the monopolies controlling the American Market. The guy that killed him may have been an anarchist, but he was also a union worker. Teddy is better than McKinley by leaps and bounds. Protected America’s beauty from corporate destruction, its people from corporate destruction, and created prosperity for his nation from which he loved and was proud of. Only thing you can knock Teddy on is he was a war hawk. He wanted America to be a super power in the 1910’s. If Teddy stayed a VP, we would never have our laws against monopolies. Monopolization is not capitalistic.
@MeatLogg Says:
His visage is on the $500 bill, which needs to be printed again. The treasury took them out of circulation in 1969, but I'd argue such denomination needs to be brought back vis-à-vis inflation, with McKinley's visage, of course
@topcat890 Says:
Too bad, Obama, change the mountain in Alaska, which was named after McKinley to Denali At alternative give it a hybrid name mt McKinney Denali a win-win for both sides

Jesus Christ saves He had mercy on me he can save all who all seek him today He made away through calvery repent of all sins today Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Come to Jesus Christ today Jesus Christ is only way to heaven Repent and follow him today seek his heart Jesus Christ can fill the emptiness he can fill the void Heaven and hell is real cone to the loving savior today Today is the day of salvation tomorrow might be to late come to the loving savior today Holy Spirit can give you peace purpose and joy and his will today John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. Mark 1.15 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Hebrews 11:6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Jesus

Unsurprisingly PragerU ignores the shady dealings of McKinley, include the illegality of his war against Spain and the numerous crimes USA committed against the Philippines.
@jrizaac Says:
He hath conquered
@Mr._XStence Says:
What were "the victories of the Spanish American War?" It was imperialism. That's why Prager University is not a real university. It is conservative propaganda.
@juliust.gayagas4022 Says:
Mckinley has been honor here in the Philippines,by naming some streets,after him.
@evelyndonnacunningham3553 Says:
Spain did not have colonies. They were overseas provinces. The Americans sank the Maine themselves to blame the Spaniards and start the war. This video is so biased.
@cvr527 Says:
Teddy Roosevelt was the first progressive President and created the blue print for progressive fascism in the USA. Roosevelt is unworthy of adulation and should not be on Mt Rushmore. Mckinley fabricated a War with Spain and therefore is also unworthy of adulation.
@brndnwilks Says:
And that's why I'll always call it Mount McKinley, no matter what they say.
@TickedOffPriest Says:
A successor taking all of the credit, makes sense.
@seangriffin2053 Says:
McKinley sounds more impressive than I realized, but Teddy was no slouch himself.
@jonathanhall7903 Says:
I know very little about WM. This is a good start.
@leslieackerman4189 Says:

@davegreenlaw5654 Says:
Great video full of information that I never knew. I've always wondered, if not Roosevelt and Lincoln, then who else would be up there on Mount Rushmore. (Let's face it, Washington and Jefferson would be up there no matter what.)
@AtarahDerek Says:
@RemsHusband BlueTube deleted my comment because I DARED to list the name of a human rights attorney in China who sacrificed himself for a severely persecuted minority. AND I WILL KEEP PUTTING IT BACK UNTIL THOSE TRAITORS TO THE CONSTITUTION GET OVER THEMSELVES!!! AN.Y.WAY!! Denali was NOT named after a president. It was named after an unproven political candidate. And it was NOT named by the Alaska territorial government. It was named by some random sourdough who had no authority to give away someone else's property. The ONLY problem I have with Obama taking McKinley's name off the maps is that he was the world's biggest hypocrite while doing it. He too got a nice, big prize for making stereotypical campaign promises before he was elected. And his prize too was stolen from its rightful recipient. And the man FLAUNTS it in the face of its rightful owner's family. GAO DESERVES THAT NOBEL PEACE PRIZE AND I WILL DIE ON THAT HILL!! And for that reason, I simply cannot support McKinley as the English name of Denali. And if it were to be named after a president, it should be Taft. Just to keep it thematically appropriate.
@samcotten2416 Says:
Definitely a better President that TR on policy
