Back then, men became the protectors and hunters because women who bore children were more valuable for preservation of the species than the man who helped create the child. I heard a comparison on marriage involving hunters and deer a long time ago, which I thought this was going to be.
It goes like this:
Women are like deer, frolicking about. Man is the hunter. He finds a deer he likes, shoots it, drags it home, and hangs it up to dry. He is happy the deer is hanging up there, available for whatever he wants it. The problem is that women are not to be treated like a deer. They must be invited on the hunt. If you are talking about conservation in the notion of stewardship, then this is still a horrible analogy.
Not only are wolves not stewards, they regularly overhunt and prey on juveniles (much like Right Wing terrorists who love guns).
Human stewardship of the environment and by extension civilization, is a process predicated on intelligence. That requires an informed and understanding view of the situation and uplistic approaches that tackle underlying weakpoints that make the system susceptible to grifters and charlatans such as yourselves.
