Rappaport had to go on a rant the first time through for reasons some people may not understand. He starred in a movie called zebrahead back in the 90s where he played a Jewish boy who fell in love with a black girl, was very controversial. This movie gave him a kind of status in the black community. He later played a white nationalist in the 90s movie higher learning, which a lot of people gave him flack for. So when this came out about Charlottesville, he had to go at the situation in an over the top way to kinda denounce that group as well. Just to prove he wasn't who he portrayed in the movie. My opinion anyway lol

I think a lot of people got “played” by the media during that era. A lot of people trusted what politicians and news outlets were saying and now it’s not so hard to see through the propaganda. Do I think people should go on apology tours for once believing in false narratives? no I actually don’t. However, I do think a person such as a celebrity needs to put some effort into it. Going on a podcast and saying I was wrong one time isn’t enough to gain my full respect. He specifically spewed a lot of hatful nonsense that both hurt people and encouraged others to hate more.
