The courts told them they didn't have to know it, they can lie unabashedly with no hesitation and your only recourse is years and years in court, thousands of dollars in legal fees and then maybe, just maybe, there will have been a case similar enough to get past the immunity they gave themselves. This is the legal system of America today. Congratulations, we played ourselves and yet people still call these cowards "heros".
