I think the simple truth is that SOME things were better in the 90s but other things were also worse. The same is true for every period of human history, even Antiquity. Personally, I became super nostalgic for the 1950s when I read Stephen King's 11/22/63 but I'm also self-aware enough to realize that it wasn't a perfect time.

My community has a roller skating place and it’s exactly the same as it was in the 90s when I went there. Now 30 years later I get to take my 6 yr old and have a blast.
