I would agree that the pregnant woman should clean up the mess except for the part where her pregnancy is high risk. We don't know other people's health conditions, so don't assume that she's just like every other pregnant woman. I had a high risk pregnancy where I continued to bleed throughout my second trimester and I couldn't do any strenuous work at all. The flight attendant should have erred on the side of caution and not make her clean it on her hands and knees like that, because she could've had complications right then and there and the crew wouldn't be able to help her. They could even face a lawsuit should she lose her pregnancy.

Flight attendance don't clean up...after the flight cleaning crew gets on the plane and cleans up...the flight attendance can not ask passengers to clean up....the crew on flight is there to help and serve the passengers...that's why they are pay for...if they don't like it just change job ....and for those who disagree I will tell them tha I work 28 years for a airline...

I'm sorry but you're wrong. United shouldn't have made her pick up the popcorn, that's why they have maintenance and clean-up crews. Otherwise, they shouldn't give out the popcorn. Why didn’t some able-bodied person (flight attendant or another passenger) offer to pick up the popcorn for a pregnant woman? I would have done it and let the mom sit and tend to her kids. It’s just a kind thing to do. Being pregnant is awkward enough without having to get down on the floor in a cramped space.
But with that said, it’s not crazy that a parent has to clean up a child’s mess. The airline could have been more helpful by planning for accidents like this. Suggestion for the airline: Get a Dust Buster.

High risk pregnancy at five months. Ok every woman is different but why are you traveling alone with two kids?
Over reactions all around.
AA did the right thing. They saw the kid made a mess and asked the adult to pick it up. Mother should’ve asked for assistance instead of over reacting; because I’m learning towards the mother over reacted.
I’ve seen plenty of messing made in planes and made one myself. And the reaction from the staff was the same every time. They politely and quietly walk over with a empty bag and towel with the instructions “please press the overhead button when your done or if you need assistance” not one was shamed to clean up a mess they influenced.

I have no Idea who Jessie Decker is, however I side with her. There are people who are paid to clean up airplanes. If I worked on the plane, I would have picked up the popcorn on my own and the captain would never have know of the incident. The only other thing that would change that, would be if the children were having a popcorn fight and making the mess on purpose. Even at that, I would have informed the parent about what the children were doing, and then picked it up.
