While I disagree with the fact that Johnson didn’t pay tribute to Obama, I wish that these people would stop being so salty about it. I don’t pay tribute to everyone that I like. I kind of like Obama and liked the fact that he restored my college eligibility, but at the same time, he did make some mistakes. Not a bad person, but like I said, he did make some mistakes and I did call him out on it. I’m more disappointed that he didn’t pay tribute to Bernie Sanders than I am about him not paying tribute to Obama. I felt that Obama was more interested in sports than he was in helping the economy, which I don’t view as a bad thing, as sports are my passion. However, there’s a time to govern and a time to govern and he was more focused on sports, when he’s supposed to be focused on promoting Universal Healthcare, so maybe he should’ve just stuck to what he was good at. Like I said, not a bad person and he did accomplish some good things and I’m happy to have supported him for the nomination and both general elections, but as much as I’ll always have a soft spot for him, I don’t view him as a god and I don’t think that it’s necessary for us or anyone to worship him.

Videos bashing Obama I can’t even watch. The lack of appreciation and taking for granted all the good Obama has contributed is really shameful. Sure he has made mistakes but that’s not the only thing Dems need to focus on for the rest of eternity. You need to realize he is still one of the strongest tools we have to win future elections.
It goes unnoticed that Obama is a big reason why Dems have pulled through on many elections and may be why we have the momentum we have today. His ability to message, get out the vote efforts, and uncanny skill in campaigning and conveying a powerful, positive message has been huge for democrats.
I’m progressive but many progressives shoot themselves in the foot trying to find any reason to criticize an ally. Why progressives would think it’s beneficial to knock down one of our movements strongest weapons, because he wasn’t progressive enough, is a mystery to me. He’s done far more for the progressive movement than his critics have, just for the elections he’s helped us win and the future generations he’s inspired to run like Maxwell Frost.

What you should have focused on is that his people all supported Vallas. Obviously Obama was well-represented by Arne Duncan, Dick Durbin and others during this race. The trib was butt hurt that their boy (a republican wearing a democrat disguise didn’t win), so after Johnson’s amazing and fiery Chicago civil rights resurrection speech, they needed to find a way to vilify him…this was their way.
