The scanners are now gender neutral actually. But I know some officer ladies who hate patting down trans people because they hate having to touch male genitalia. TSA can hardly keep women officers it needs because of poor working conditions and being forced to "discover" what that person is hiding in their pants, and this adds to the problem tremendously.
