Sunny, I am a senior white women who lives in a senior community. Most of the senior women here supported Kamala Harris. We remember the women's right movement and the civil rights movement. And we all refused to go back !!
@irene617 Says:
It's not fair that certain states are the ones that decide who is going to be president. Each state should have the same anount of electorial votes. You take a state like Texas who is a red state which has 40 electorial votes and a small blue state like RI that only has 4 electorial votes. So you all know dam well who is going to win, it will be the big red state. We should abolish the electorial vote and go with the popular vote. How do we know if this election wasn't rigged by the Republican Party or Elton Musk secretly paying people to vote for Trump ? Back a few years ago the Democrat party tried to abolish the electorial vote and of course it was the Republicans who turned it down, because there are more red states in the US and then blue states.

You betcha! We don’t want a single portion of America, say the big cities, deciding who is President! We want a President decided by the whole,of America! The electoral college is a good way to do that!

One person one vote! Every vote should count!
@dartmart9263 Says:
Abolished? NO!!! If it’s abolished the mobs will always win, no one else will even have the remotest chance at winning, or get a word in edgewise for that matter. It would be nothing but mob rule!
@just-dl Says:
So, he suggested abolishing the electoral college, then learned what its purpose is…and finally figured out that he doesn’t know enough about it. This, boys and girls, is why our country is so screwed up.
@ScotMayo420 Says:
Retarded lib students don't like the electoral college because there libtard professors told them not to like it. Their professors suck if one video can change the opinion they were told to have a year ago.

This is a republic, not a democracy. And a republic, the states have power. In a total democracy, only the federal government has power.

The states have gotten big enough that an Electoral College system should be set up for governor races as well. As it is now, the cities vote for the governor and the people in the rural areas get left out.
@jessicaf8917 Says:
There's a reason the founding fathers instituted the electoral college. Ask anyone who wants to abolish it WHY it was created in the first place.
@gregoryvalestin8604 Says:
I simply showed my son the population of somewhere like New York VS Wyoming and told him if the President was only decided from the popular vote, Wyoming's voice literally would never be heard in an election.
@dan.w.2432 Says:
Just an abysmal primitive election system. There are so many better designed electoral systems that achieve the goals of the electoral college without making the only votes that matter be from PA, WI, and NC.
@iamcontrolledbycats Says:
btw guys this isnt what a "free and fair election" looks like
the electoral college removes the "fair" component
this is because of 1 part of it where all states need to have atleast 3 votes, which means even though alaska has ~733k people in it, it still gets 3 electoral votes
thats 244k people per electoral vote. in contrast, florida which has ~23,000k people in it gets 30 votes. thats 766k people per electoral vote.
if you are in florida your vote is worth only 30% of what an alaskan's vote.
(this isnt exclusive to just alaska and flordia its also the case for many other states)
i personally think the electoral college would be acceptable if there wasnt a requirement to have 3 votes as a minimum per state
@zhan-iy3ms Says:
There's a reason why the founding fathers were in their place; & not some random men of that time (other than them).
As such, asking random people now, is as irrelevant, as it were back then.

Want to see how voting without an EC works? Look at any blue shithole state. 95% of the AMERICAN counties are under the regime of the 5% remaining DEMOCRAT counties. Every "blue" state is basically an American state under rule by 3 democrap counties.
Removing the EC will basically turn the entire US into one big calfiornia.
@extraextra2590 Says:
The EC sucks. Here’s why: The EC was made in the early days of the United States to have literate educated smart people voting because the literacy rate in the U.S. was 20%. Now, voters are educated more and don’t need this
@jmoneyband13st75 Says:
Electoral college is full of super delicates. Meaning during the primaries your vote does not matter. The superdelegates can vote against the popular vote and that is who will get the nomination. If you remove the electoral college the popular vote will be the nomine. The only coalition building and campaigning is probably bribing these superdelegates for their votes. 😢
@averageamerican2683 Says:
I disagree. Popular vote in each state. States with higher gdp are worth more “points”. Takes all of the race/sex claims out of the equation and influences the state government to incentivize growth.

The Electoral College represents all communities, lets all voices be heard, and makes this republic possible. Without it, our country would just turn into San Fransisco.
@billd7453 Says:
100% NO! Imagine giving everything to a few states just to get elected. With the EC. Now South Dakota matters, North Dakota, Idaho, All the small states.

@trev5.566 Says:
If you abolish the EC, then why would you keep the Senate?
The senate “disenfranchises” people the same way as the EC supposedly does.
The 500k citizens of Wyoming are not the same as a random group of 500k citizens in a random part of California like the popular vote sees them.
The 500k citizens of Wyoming speak and count as the sovereign voice of the State of Wyoming.
States have rights, that’s why they all have 2 senators and why a presidential candidate only gets the states electoral votes is the people of that state give it to them.
We have a Congress that is population dependent to give every citizen a voice and it is the closest federal government mechanism to the people.
And the electoral votes are population dependent.
@crispinfornoff206 Says:
None of them would be saying this if it was republicans winning the popular vote.
