People certainly could put money on things to make themselves feel better, that's not the argument, the argument is that if it really was 50/50 then you have a 10 point arbitrage opportunity there that should be an opportunity which would bring the odds back, if your expected value is 10 cents on the dollar then the market should adjust that back to the 'real' odds

The polls are not telling the whole story here...just like the Red Wave of 2022 that never happened...suddenly when the polls have been wrong almost every election since 2012, we suddenly believe these polls are accurate? Here's a tip if you missed it. Women are outvoting men by 10% in the early voting. Here's what happened in Michigan for a little history: 2016: when Trump beat Clinton, the vote was divided 52% women 48% men, when Biden won in 2020, 54% women 46% men; early voting 2024 55% women 44% men. Men support Trump over Kamala 56 to 39%, but despite a fairly even split between dems and the GOP in early voting you are not seeing a surge in male voting, in fact if there is one, it's being overwhelmed by the women's vote. Hard data tells the real story. Polls don't. And the Republican defections could easily be in the 5% to 10% range, which would be enough to give Georgia and NC to Harris.

I just wanna say your analysis here is correct and factual, but one of the most fundamental reasons that Kamala and the democrats are losing is that they’re *not* left-wing. They’re neocons. Why else would they support war with Russia and parade Dick Cheney around? Garden variety liberal democrats are rapidly decreasing as a part of the voter share because most people can see that liberal identity politics don’t work for the working class and are therefore right wing.
