Halton region hired a private company IIRC 2016 to escape the oversight of the Ontario ombudsman and then fired them after they made a decision against the town of Milton and then rehired them later ostensibly after they agreed to be compliant. The town of Milton recently fired its own integrity commissioner about after he made a decision against one of the counselors.
