The experiences at residential schools weren't all bad as the media wants people to believe - many indigenous people shared positive stories and some said if it wasn't for the schools they wouldn't be alive today. Many stories have come out this year and last year. I have always respected native people and I don't need the federal government especially this government telling me what to do and how to feel when indigenous girls and women continue to be victimized and the Liberals have done nothing about this or other issues on reserves.

My Auntie Lottie was Aboriginal from Wawa and attended residential school near Sault Ste. Marie and she was educated and treated well, and When she Married a drunk Aboriginal named Peter McMahon who almost killed her and her two sons, she blamed the Reserve mentality where Sexual abuse, Addiction and neglect by Band members. She turned her back on the people that tried to destroy her life and praised the Residential Schools and said many of those who attended and ran away, were victims of the Bands abuse and they felt compelled to return to the very people that abused them.
Yes the Government and Church were ill equipped to save children from an Addictive group of people that cared more about Alcoholism than education, and child Safety but the fact remains that as a Group, the Aboriginals have to be held to account for their children’s future.

These are documented facts in Canadian history that cannot be criminalized by parliament.
