Okay, Phil. Why do you need a license from the state to recognize your marriage? Why does the Federal Goverment have lower marginal tax rates for married couples than singles? Married couple also gets double the standard deduction. Does our society have a vested interest in man+woman=child? Does society have a vested interest in father's being involved in their son's lives? Prison is mostly full of young men who grew up without dad. I think Dr. Phil is giving kind of a lazy, libertarian, live and let live, kind of a viewpoint buthe hasn't really thought it through. I think society should be allowed to have legistlation that encourages things that are good for society and discourages things that are bad. I think it's also okay to point out that the legislation we have today disproportionately benefits one group at the expense of another.

No Fault Divorce incentives women to leave when times get tough instead of honoring the vows that they had taken. They use it as a tool against husbands and fathers so they can go live their fantasy lives with the guy they were cheating with.
