Ive had my work cut out for me these days informing ignorant Christians that God specifically said that He will send all of His enemies to Hell. Either you are with Him or against Him. He is a just God, but justice does not exist without punishment. God is loving and merciful, but He is not a bleeding heart.

Say no to Dope and the Pope..He'll is a place for Evil to rest...And not in peace.....
@royshashibrock3990 Says:
The key here, in my opinion, is that maybe the Pope doesn't believe what he "preaches." If I work for a dill pickle company, I am free to say that I don't like my company's pickles. But is understood that when it comes to clergy, the Holy man must believe what he is practicing; else he is a hypocrite.

Remember people the Pope is just a man. Blessings don’t come from him but God. Don’t confuse this male as a saint. I’ve been on this planet 72 years haven’t seen a saint!

All of you people disagreeing with the Pope are blasphemers. How dare you insult his wisdom and intelligence.

Hell doesn't exists (it is a figure). And God (the true God) does not punish (do not torture evil people).
@misanthrophex Says:
things is, who truly should be punished. many people get completely brainwashed, they have no chance, they become absolute puppets and then they do the bidding of their master. is it fair to punish such people? purgatory, maybe, I don't know. But these questions are too difficult to answer so easily. I too hope we sobered up and started acting like proper human beings, but many still give in to the animal within, often without a choice really, because our culture defines us. Give a child for wolves to raise, and you will have a feral child forever.
@terryfox9344 Says:
Dennis, like you I trust in a just God. I also believe that God has given us the gift of free will, that enables us to choose to live a good life, but also gives us the freedom to do things contrary to God's will and to reject Him and His commandments. If we say that we do not wish to love God and our neighbor, then He will not force us to live with Him. Like Job, I was not present when God formed creation, so I don't know everything about heaven and hell, but I can't imagine that living without God in "hell" is not particularly pleasant.
@garyegray Says:
All is One and One is all. Read Ephesians 4:6. God is in and through all things, including us. The SOURCE of consciousness is God. Therefore, to punish one is to punish God. And, in reality, time is an illusion, and relative. The “future” hell you speak of does not exist in the singular time you believe. Past, present and future exist simultaneously.
@ksiebert631 Says:
Eventually hell will be empty. Its basically blotting the soul out of the book of life as though it never existed. This doesn't happen until the end of the thousand year millennium reign of Christ. That's one interpretation of hell. It could mean separation from God. Which during the millennium reign of Christ there will be those on the other side of paradise. Judgement day is at the end of the thousand year millennium reign of Christ. That is when Lucifer is thrown into fire lake. Death of the soul. And anyone who wants to follow after that chump.
@johnbadminton5713 Says:
There's no level of punishment that warrants hell as depicted. It is the product of a sick mind real or not.
@markdettra1794 Says:
We already KNOW human souls are in Hell right now & will remain forever. Jesus our Lord taught about the reality of Hell -- more than His references to Heaven. Francis should not even suggest that no one is in , or can choose to go there , because of their FREE-WILL choices made in this life. ALL of God's judgements are fully JUST . Anyone who disagrees this principle , is blaspheming our Creator.

Weeping and gnashing of teeth. Eternal separation from God let that sink in.
The bad news:
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. No one is good enough to escape hell and enter heaven. All have broken Gods law and are deserving of judgment and condemnation (hell).
The good new:
being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. There is forgiveness for even the worst of sinners in Christ. Confess, repent, believe that Christ is the redeemer and paid for all the sins of mankind and you will be saved by His grace but not by your works.
@patrickburns3628 Says:
Here’s a real question. Why does a man of faith and presumed to be the holder of the keys to Christ kingdom need a bulletproof bubblemobile and an army of bodyguards to protect him? It is truly sad that so many fall for this overly complicated pyramid scheme known as the Catholic Church. The audacity of those that refer to it as the church when it bares no resemblance to Christs early church he established and then grew by the thousands through the gift of the Holy Spirit to the apostles. Read the Book of Acts or any of the letters to the churches at the time. You won’t read anything that resembles the Catholic Church. It’s one big power and cash grab.

Dennis, I don't think you took into account the Catholic Doctrine of Purgatory. Purgatory is a place of post mortal punishment. Hell is unending conscious torment.
@CastleArchon Says:
The idea of Jesus Christ nullifies hell for those who believe in him. Of course, you have to mean it. It's not a magic incantation.
@classicalteacher Says:
Hell is the absence of God. Hell is where people refuse God's mercy. They never accept God's love. God is love. God's judgment is just. People choose Hell and the isolation from God's love. Without an eternity of punishment in Hell, an eternity in Heaven with God is pointless.

Can God be Good or Just without hell being a real place?
@DawnaLovesYarn Says:
With all due respect Dennis, it's my opinion that the pope meant that he hoped that even those who lived evil lives, that before they actually died, that they accepted Jesus as their savior. God knows the hearts, even of the evil. He would know whether they are sincere or not. But is hell empty? I don't see how it could be because didn't Hitler die suddenly? The Hamas leader who's bedroom was bombed....I'm sure he died suddenly. So these people would not have had the luxury of a "come to Jesus moment". Hell is indeed for the unrepentant and there are, and will be, plenty of those.
@nosretep1960 Says:
Hell IS empty!! The AC and the false prophet will inaugurate occupation. Meanwhile Hades has most people. Humans only go to hell after the final Judgement.

@robertreaves4503 Says:
I am not Catholic so I don’t have a vote on the Pope, but from a Christian perspective it appears he has been the softest on sin in my 70 plus year lifetime. However if my understanding of hell is correct all unrepentant sinners are suffering eternal hopelessness and suffering. If it is empty then somehow GOD has changed his definition of justice. Being soft on sin does nothing to encourage a purposeful life. That brings us to the question of, why deny my sinful urges, evil thoughts and actions if there are no repercussions for them. Mr. Prager is correct that an empty hell would mean there are no consequences for bad and no reward for good behavior and so religion, righteousness and spiritual discipline is useless. God is great and merciful but we have scripture that defines how to access forgiveness and everlasting life and there people who have not acted as worthy of salvation for their entire lifetime. Hell is NOT empty but rather is becoming crowded. I pray for my soul everyday because I don’t want to follow THAT crowd. May God have mercy on us sinners who ask for it. Jesus died to give us that chance, we need to take it and be grateful.
@BruceFillman-ek7sj Says:
Hell I'd one of the most wrongly defined words in Christianity. Hell is simply the name for the final separation from God, permanently. When the judgement is finally completed, those who are not saved are burned in fire and cease to exist. There is no eternal torture. There is eternal life for the saved and eternal death for the lost.
@ehdforlife Says:
Hell will be empty. Because Hell (Hades) in the end will be brought forth and all there will be judged and they will be cast into the Lake of Fire. Which, is often equated as Hell, but it is not.
Revelation 20:13-15 KJV
[13] And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. [14] And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. [15] And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
@inthewoods3237 Says:
It’s impossible for hell to be empty because millions have died without trusting in Jesus Christ not even talking about evil
@jopeteus Says:

The pope is a beautiful example of a cautionary tale about the damaging effects of chronic drug use.
@jeremyvehring9259 Says:
We should not worry or trust what any human being says about hell. We should be only concerned with what the Bible tells us about hell. The Bible says that the road to hell is smooth and wide meaning most people are going there because we are born with a rebellious sinful heart. That's why we need a Savior which is Jesus. I do agree with Mr. Prager that hell is a place of punishment for evildoers, but the one thing is there will be good people who will go to hell because they never knew God.
@donsena2013 Says:
The afterlife that follows death consists of life *after* death, not life *during* death. Life and death are mutually exclusive.
After life, death; and after death, life -- by way of resurrection from death.
Resurrection may be to eternal life (Rev 20: 5) in a sprit body (1 Cor 15: 42) to be enjoyed here on earth in God’s Kingdome, or to the same fleshly bodies we all have now (Rev 20: 12).
Those who are in this latter resurrection are judged according to their actions and will receive in their bodies whatever evil they perpetrated upon others. They will get away with nothing!
Nowhere in Scripture are we told that we can or will “go to heaven” (or, in those translations that use the word, to “hell”) by way of a supposedly immortal soul.
There are three concepts of heaven in the Hebrew and Koine-Greek scriptures, none of which refer to a habitation for immortal souls of humans.
Pagan immortal-soul belied is not only unscriptural, but contra-scriptural (Solomon in Eccl 9: 5, 12; King David in Psalm 6: 5; 30: 9; and Isaiah 38: 18). The human soul -- (Hebrew)) nefesh , (Koine Greek) psyche -- is capable of death (Mt 10: 28). All hope for eternal life is in being resurrected back to life in God's Kingdom, which will be put on this earth when Yeshua Hammashiach (Jesus the Messiah) reappears at the end of the present age (Hebrews 9: 28b).
Meanwhile, the god of the present age (2 Cor 4: 4) is Satan, God's adversary, who mercilessly tempted his Son, Yeshua, in the desert (Mt 4; Lk 4).
The wages of sin for those who chose to yield to Satan are death (Romans 6: 23), not eternal life in some alternate spirit realm.
We certainly do not have eternal life (in the form of an immortal soul) within our bodies.
