I feel that this will end up with the “they decided that the life of a soldier isn’t that valuable”, but it seems a very cool concept
@WAMoralesIgnacio Says:
Prosthetics with a light compact battery came to mind first. But combat armor is cool too.
@louisbrill891 Says:
Wearable batteries are super iffy. Imagine a ballistic vest made of 18650's getting shot. Big fire hazard. If you're storing enough power for a useful combat system, it's not going to fail calmly.
@Armin2012 Says:
I like how this appears like something good for the medical field to make way for implants, and he just shoots straight for the military industrial complex
He knows where the real moneys at
@JoeysClones Says:
I'm going to make a magnet suite and create and harness a reversible pole shifter. That simulates constant shifts on Earth's field creating propulsion..I'm going to fly dang it. First trials I was stuck to a plane for 8hours into Brazil.

I love seeing new technologies emerge. I wonder what we will have in 100 years
@timelymantis5565 Says:
Dont get to much hope for seeing these in the military. We kinnda already got those just not as bendy and stretchy the real problem is weight it will only see use in the military if it's lighter than current batteries. Ours already survive extreme environments and trauma. Plus down side is soldiers will stretch as much as possible on the kit then when they fall or get caught on a branch then they will snap and mid mission that would be a problem

This is 2011 tech finally getting financed
@newchangeunlisted_viewer5594 Says:
Technology is developing faster than we can keep up with
Let's see where this leads to
@elhilo1972 Says:
Why do we insist that nature came about randomly, by chance, when constantly copy their designs for ours? The design of the eel is simply genius.

This is Ambatron type shit
@AMANSINGH-tb6pj Says:
This may also make the electronic devices flexible. As most of the components in our smartphones can be made bendable today, even the oled screens, the battery and the camera are the only unbendable big components.
@Zarkasim Says:
For a second I thought Obi-Wan was talking to me.
@Cru128 Says:
And how would the batteries assist our capabilities?
Are we taking into account the needs of an individual soldier and the equipment they already use? NODs, optics, IR lasers? Things not typically attached to the body- and how would they react to explosions, gunfire, impacts with the ground?
I can’t think of anything we typically wear that would need these kinds of batteries, and how would it even hold up on my side of the fence with CBRN defense? Would it hinder the donning or doffing of MOPP? Would the batteries become hazardous to the wearer under even minimal CBRN contamination? Could you decon these batteries? Would they interfere with the effectiveness of MOPP?
Important questions to ask-
@shamakrai3310 Says:
Or it could be used to manufacture foldable & rollable smartphones.
Remember: anything you are hearing about is at least 100 years behind what they aren’t showing you.
@simeontam2434 Says:
I have been thinking similar things to create an armour for the future

It's truly terrifying how normal it's become that the first application of potentially life changing technologies is at this point just assumed to be on the battlefield where it'll be used to kill more efficiently, we know it could be used in medical to save uncountable lives, and we know the patent will be snatched by the US military
@NightVisionOfficial Says:

1 first thought is the spines you collect from enemies to heal in MGRR
2 volume to capacity wise how do they compare to already existing batteries
@Thelnir Says:
Imagine coupling this with piezoelectric generators...
@ZomboidMania Says:
And we'll have it in the consumer market in about 20-30 years hell yeah
@Amkuming Says:
What if the batteries generated power with friction or heat?
@Andrei_Antonov Says:
Now put that shit with a fucking russian exo suit you get every sci-fi badass

@Aljhaqu Says:
A step further. Develop it with biological components, make them able to be recharged with the very heat of the body, and you'll have the perfect batteries for future prosthetics and in-body computers.

Cyberpunk tech here we go
@domonator5000 Says:
As a soldier in Alaska, I bet these batteries would be amazing to have. How to they handle extreme temperatures? Actually now that I think about it, them being mostly water would probably mean they freeze more easily, but maybe they could power a heated vest well, since that’s close to your core
@whiteblack2008 Says:
It's either metal gear rising or halo moment (halo sets in way more future than metal gear rising ofcourse)
