First breakdance is not just about powermoves and flare. Focus too much on power technique is dull and off beat, also more risk. And if you watch Raygun old videos, you can see that she is not too outstanding, but she had good foundation. She can breakdance. I think she tried to hard to impress the olympic, she want to do something completely different, and its not breakdance anymore.

Without that "performance" almost no one would be talking about breakdance during and after, even those that normally would skip mentioning this dance form. Rachael "Raygun" Gunn does not shame breakdance community world wide, only herself and maybe Australia's jury for this. She apparently have been in competitions before, ending in bottom half. In hindsight should she just done a regular attempt in the Olympics?

I mean, I get the kangaroo part. Kangaroos are iconic, they're what everyone knows Australia for. It's like Germany and Lederhosen. So I get that she was trying to incorporate this into her performance as a wink. Thing is, it didn't work. At all. The result is reminiscent of a combination of a child acting like a kangaroo, and the same child having a temper tantrum at the grocery store because her mom refuses to buy her an ice cream. Nobody who knows anything about breakdancing, nobody who has ever seen someone do proper breakdancing at least once, would believe she actually knows how to breakdance after that performance. I mean, look at her attempt at a head spin, which failed miserably. And when it is pointed out, cue obligatory sob story, and, of course, it's all sexism. That's like me participating in a singing contest and making last place, but instead of blaming the fact that I can't sing, I say I lost because everyone hates fat people. And then cue my sob story how I've had it so hard because I'm a fat guy with a voice that sounds like a donkey humping a crow, in a profession dominated by slim, attractive people with beautiful voices.

I’ve heard this called “Princess Syndrome”, and it’s a good title for it from what I see. We see it with some Swifties as well… people that can only see themselves (or someone they see themselves in) as only ever being a “hero” or a “victim”. She truly seems to believe that she is “good”, because she decided to change the standard to be what she wants it to be(one that favors her), instead of adhering to the existing standard. BUT then if you don’t like it, “you must be a misogynist, or you’re jealous!” (This then fuels the social movements to further support her)
This mentality is scary and it comes from having an abundance of privileged opportunity, but with no accountability or expectations to match. We can’t sit and tell young girls that they can “do or be anything they want”, but at the same time, have no expectations for how they then participate. In fact, this is called “prejudice of lowered expectations” and this is why it’s not a good thing!
She has now subsided in delusion(due to the ideological and nebulous favoritism she’s received), and only surrounds herself with those whom will validate her delusions(and it’s mind blowing how many will). They then all protect her from ever having to face reality. It’s really pretty scary actually, even for her own sake! Especially when people like this gain a position of “power”, and then gate-keep opportunity with, and for, their own delusional equity… the fact that this happened at the Olympics should be concerning to everyone. It is likely happening all over at this point and it’s very dangerous!
