I do not understand why the "American" bible is the King James version, the bible of a British king from centuries ago (and incidentally a gay king). Should it not be the New American Standard, a bible written in the current US vernacular?
And as a side note, the KJV was translated from the latin Catholic bible which was a translation that passed through hundreds of monks, copying it by hand from someone else's transcription.
The NASB is translated directly from the earliest copies which are written in ancient Greek, Aramaic and Hebrew. Each time an earlier version is found it is translated and updated again.
the rump bible is a smack in the face to all Americans because its contents are unreliable. And adding documents of the US government is blasphemy.
