I visited Jasper a few years ago and remarked at vast stands of dead trees. It's negligence to leave dead, dry trees in place. The eventual outcome is entirely predictable. There are vast stands of deadwood between BC and Alberta. Governments need to assemble manpower and equipment to salvage log and replant these areas before more devastation occurs.

Parks Canada were scared to do burns, but did logging in 2022 and misc fireguard and other works.

Obviously what they did do, didn't save all the Town. But without knowing all the facts, it's a bit premature to condemn them completely, and definitely wrong to say they did nothing. To claim hot, dry and windy was the main factor, however seems like side-stepping any responsibility.
This is an interesting 2019 paper, so should have been known by Parks Canada. "Firefighter Observations of “Surprising” Fire Behavior in Mountain Pine Beetle-Attacked Lodgepole Pine Forests".
