Kingdom of Kurdistan existed from 1922 to 1924, but within Iraq. Other than that indipendent Kurdistan within mentioned borders never existed. For a thing to be erased must exist first. False claim. Pseudo journalist.

I used to find it hard to understand why the westerners are so affectionate about the whole kurdish story..There is no one kurdish people in history and there never has been. The westerners do not have a clue what is Kurdish.. For example there is no one kurdish language, there is Kirmanchi, Zaza, Sorani and etc. Yet they still keep promoting this "ooh poor kurdish people living here for so many years and never had the chance to get their own country ,,, blah blah blah.... Then it took me only a glance at the history and figured out all this bullshit. Just like the english empire was affectionate about the whole arab story during ottoman empire. They never tell you the real deal. It is not about kurdish or the arabs it is about the deals they cut about petrol and gas or any other exploitation opportunities. Westerners are a distinct species of human where their whole life is about exploitation, wars and scrutiny. Look at US.. Why US have marines all around the world? What does a US citizen deserve to have in any other part of the world? But they learned this from English and the Dutch and the Spanish.. They built their whole culture and life on going around the world and bullying other nations in their very own lands. Why is a British or an American guy concerned about a clan of people's fate or sovereignty who they do not really even barely know about.?? Just because they are so sensitive people? Why are they not so sensitive about their own shit then ? why are they not sensitive about native americans then or the Irish people's sovereignty. Maybe because that does not fit their greed for exploitation.

Divide and conquer! That is how the colonial powers governed their colonies. The result was the creation of countries which had little or no concern to the people who had been living in these areas for centuries.

It blows my mind with all of the popular calls to end the Israeli occupation, virtually nobody even knows about the 30 million Kurds who got screwed out of a country completely in 1948 and have spent the last 7 decades being abused, repressed, bombed, slaughtered and gassed by the countries which occupy their territory (Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran). The Kurds were probably the best allies the US has had in a generation and we completely abandoned them again and again.

@arminiuscherusci4410 Says:
Im totally in favor of an independent Kurdish state. However, we have to keep in mind that there never really was a Kurdish state in the past. There were several smaller nations and even one or two caliphates led by Kurdish sultans. But never really a nation of the Kurdish people. This also makes the development of nationhood extremely difficult because there is no real tradition they could base their idea on. Also wouldn’t the US and the remaining western countries left alone after the Kurds almost single handily defeated Isis, the possibility of the existence of Kurdistan would be more likely. But under the current political situation in the Middle East, it is highly unlikely that they will get independent. The Turkish government is actively fighting against it, Iraq and Iran nearly the same, and Syria is still in a kind of civil war state.

As a kurd is saddens me to see this. However I am not surprised. The kurds have been gullible and trusted anyone who supported the cause without any guarantees, and then did it again, and again, and again. We don't learn and the current Kurdish government does not dare to drive any initiative. This is the sad truth.

My beautiful people ! We have suffered and are suffering under these extremist nation states which have being calling Kurdish freedom fighters and activists terrorists while they have been terrorizing our people for decades and centuries. Like any people who have been occupied, colonized and oppressed we have every right to fight these extremist racist states and their armed men and it is the duty of democratic sphere- if it exists- to support resistance of colonized peoples of the world. The USA and its allies who have built their economy and politics over lives of millions of people only cares about money and more money. I am for northern part of occupied Kurdistan. I have no doubt that sooner or later we will have our Kurdistan and Assyria independent. We will enjoy our freedom and never forget all these wars have caused us and our neighbors' to suffer. If anyone would like to help other oppressed people they have to read and listen and make other people know about their cause and struggle. There are countless books and articles you could read but I would suggest people to read at least Abdullah Ocalan and Turkish activist and historian Ismail Beshikchi who has no doubt that Kurdistan is a colony. Bijî Kurd û Kurdistan !

The Ayyubid dynasty, the Medes, and the Sasanian Empire were Kurdish. No country can last forever; one day they will disappear or be divided among new superpowers. The West supports Turkey to counterbalance Russia and maintains a relationship with Iran to preserve the balance between Shia and Sunni powers.
