I should say that the average Kenyan family has both husbands and wives working and don't have a single family bank account.
The justice system doesn't consider household chores like cooking and cleaning as "investments" In Kenya if someone claims property he/she should provide proof of their contribution which is fair.
As a Kenyan i don't know what on earth countries even have that dumb 50:50 law

The wife will be there to protect and guide the children.

I can never marry in the States, because if she divorces you, she takes half of everything and you still have to keep paying her alimony from you own half.
To make matters worse, if you have kids, then you have to pay child support even if you have 50/50 custody, because men generally make more than women.

I was a stay at home mom when my marriage ended. I didn't ask for half, I took what the law deemed was 'marital property'. I got child supoort, spousal support, portion of his retirement and portion of his death benefit when he dies. It was less than half but what I was due. My ex husband didn't want me to accept the full benefits of the divorce laws but I think what the law allows should be beneficial to both parties. I didn't divorce for shyts & kicks, so I shouldn't have been made to unduly suffer.
