I can't say anything about Kenya's internal politics but his trip to Washington was a big deal. In US politics getting what is called a "state dinner" is a rare occurrence. It means you have the most precious thing, one on one time with the President and he looking to close a deal. Biden has hosted 5 leaders for these events over 4 years, all except Kenya were from the east.. Ruto just has to be smart enough to know he wants like the other countries who got what they wanted from the US when making a deal. I don't know how good a deal maker Ruto is so I will have to wait and see.
