Yes, goodness should be the primary concern. However, monitoring homework, I believe, is very important. Part of being good is putting forth honest effort in all you do, and making sure your kids aren't blowing smoke - fibbing about their studies or other things.

A high society should have a people encouraged to reach for the best good in every office or state of being. We stopped doing this, it's ok now.

I'd rather work with a person of good character and average skill, than a person of bad character and excellent skills.

It's a good thing that your kids have the knowledge of good and evil. Could you imagine if we were lacking that essential discernment..........

Same for me.

'Good' by your standards. And your entitled to your standards but don't use the word 'good' as if it's universal. If you want to be sure we're talking about th same thing, define what you call 'good.'

Dennis: "I wanted to be a good parent so my kids turned out to be good people. I wanted them to have good character." Progs: "I hATe yOu! YoU'rE tErRibLe!" Yeah you're totally on the right side of things. 🙄

Yes, this is the way. Helicopter parenting has become ridiculous. Let your kids play outside. Don’t be too quick to give them devices at an early age. Organized and scheduled activities outside of school are good, but not too many, otherwise you will overwhelm them and you will burn yourself out taking them everywhere. Keep an eye on their education and their grades, but don’t put too much pressure on them. Spend time with them, teach them important things, but focus on character and the rest will take care of itself.

The biggest problem I have witnessed, is video gaming, with parents sharing the same habit, and Internet use. Kids don't get outdoors enough. They aren't nearly as active, it seems.

I hate children but I intend to treat my baby well without hurting it.

I ask new parents. 1. What kind of adult do you want them to BECOME? 2. What are you willing to do to achieve this ? 3. What are you willing to give up to achieve this.

To me an “engaged” parent is one who gave an engagement ring to the other parent. An attentive, caring parent is one who cares for and guides children to be their best.

Good character is far better than good academics. Physical skills can be taught later in their lives. Good character is hard to learn if you weren't raised to have it.

Balance not lacking or overwhelming of something and they will be fine with a lil discipline, respecting others and installing that fear. Not fear of that whipping but fear of disappointing you the parent.

Good kids have nothing to do with parents..
@anubis1800 Says:
If you raise a kid and care about them, they'll work towards goals that make you proud of them.
