Fact of the matter: female custodians weren’t part of the established Lore in either direction; it was implied they were all men like the Astartes, but not explicitly confirmed. I don’t mind them becoming part of the established canon. LGBT stuff has existed in 40k before, but it was never the focus of basically any plotline. It was just another character detail that sorta faded into the background at times against the over-arching plot of the given story (case in point, Bequa Kynska from _Fulgrim_ ). I see no problem with this but, if anything, making such things a bigger issue in the Lore or more center-stage is absurd for the same reasons romance becoming a more common theme in 40k is absurd. Final note, one thing everyone *should* agree on is women Space Marines should never be canon.

Yeah, pretty good and clear image involving Sauromon casting a "woke spell" at that: sheer genius in that concept alone!

Lore and respecting the lore is important if you make a new film or video game that has an original.

this is what I was thinking with topics like politics in fiction and why some is fine and others, not. it's when the fictional world is encapsulated within itself that it works, while the real one stays here... in reality. if you bridge that gap for even one micro-second you must consider the lore and changes that occur with that connection to our/other world(s)... and its disastrous consequences. when you think about Diversity in stories, which gets more attention? the ideas, ideals and dreams? or what color/race some side-character is? with Equity... no, there is only equality because that world *must* have an *internal set of rules* to play by, and making everyone the winner ruins their choice in the story and nullifies the point. fictional worlds are inherently *exclusive* for this reason because they strive for *excellence...* and bottom of the barrel thinking won't cut it. Hope you have a great day & Safe Travels!

Call of Duty is the worse offender of this, since when did we go from historically accurate multiplayers, to fkng Snoop Dog and Nicki Minaj? Just imagine some old guy walking up to you like 'Yeah bro, back in Nam, Snoop would out smock the artillery and agent orange, while Nicki was twerking on them haters', like, wtf?

Lore and Cannon being the same thing. If you were to change them then you would have no ground to stand on in your world. IF you spend time building your world up with lore and cannon events and then one day just decide to change parts of it on a whim then what was the point of your previous work? what was the point of people also getting involved and loving what you've created only to suddenly realise everything they loved about something was suddenly being changed without any good reason. and what if lore was specifically removed in a scummy underhanded way so that that new lore could make sense? It is dishonest and a way to leave your world without tangibility and believability and leaves fans wondering why they bothered to which they'd likely move onto something more stable and grounded in its own set rules. A ceiling has never been a bad thing, to put a limit on someone tests your creative abilities, to remove that ceiling for your idea to work means you clearly aren't creative enough to handle the world you've been allowed to use.
@kinvert Says:
Wait this is why the left hates us we're pointing out the plot holes of Didn't Earn It and they were really invested in the lore. They don't want us to point out it's a false story full of plot holes and lies. It interferes with their suspension of disbelief and they REALLY want to believe it to a cult like level.

When the biblical cannon was assembled, it was assembled by people who loved Jesus and had a passion for the truth and what was right. The people who did not hold these values and tried to “represent themselves” and their perversions in God’s word, were excised and branded as heretics.

Females in the Custodes doesn't make sense - as humans we have nothing to relate it to, but the "what if". It would make more sense for a team of bear-creatures that destroy and murder everything to include, or even consist solely of female bears, since they tend to be more unapologetically savage, violent and destructive. Similarly, in a future, where there is only war, nobody has any energy to waste on homophobia or Pride parades, or battle teams based on something as irrelevant to the objective, as sexual orientation. It's beyond ridiculous. The problem is more pertinent in intentionally deceptive media, like Star Wars, Starship Troopers, or Dune. The self-exalting stupid must be taken down, as the intentional deceit sought to do. And with something like Fallout: Tactics, where Bethesda for the longest time couldn't figure out what the game was. But it's so obvious, though. The Brotherhood of Steel even used VR training simulators all the way back in Operation Anchorage for FO3. And the intro shows 5 tribals being inducted into the ranks of the Mid-Western Brotherhood, and yet, none of them show up anywhere in the game, that features operatives who, from their training, skills and tactical prowess, have clearly been with the Brotherhood for quite a while. It then goes on to let the dishevelled, rag-tag MWB conquer almost all of the USA in an impossible and shameless self-aggrandizing, even when we know, the Brotherhood can largely be seen as technology hoarding, xenophobic, criminal raider gangs, who'll routinely murder, and send ignorant people off to die on a Glow quest, for a laugh... There's really no reason to not understand, what the lore is.

I think your phrasing at 3:02 overestimates how much we can control the influence of stories on us. If we perceive reality through a story and our perception is a product of/ fuelling our part animal part divine nature then it's fair to say that human control here is limited. It is beyond human control to dictate the will of God or objective morality, although we still have free will to choose what to do with this information. These concepts existed before us and will continue after us. Similarly, animal instinct such as hunger is beyond our control. For clarity, what I mean by "beyond our control" is that we cannot decide the law written on our hearts however we have free will to choose whether we are to act on it. I think Plato is partly right in that some stories can degrade the soul. Porn for example is a fantasy that tempts us to cast away the divine aspect of the soul to be reduced to that of the animal. Lets say that I briefly look at a pornographic image and then perhaps out of shame or a regaining of the senses turn of my computer. In this example after I stop looking at the image I may sigh that its influence on me is over, but whilst I was looking my animal instincts and neurons dedicated to the sexual lit up so that the images story continues to influence me after I literally turned of the computer in conscious as well as subconscious ways. I cannot use my will to instantly choose (like a light switch) for the fictional story to no longer influence my perception and actions within the story of reality. That said human will is strong enough to influence our inclinations across time after consistent effort (as Dostoevsky wrote 'The second half of a man's life is made up of nothing but the habits he has acquired during the first half.') I argue that normal stories deceptive or reflective of truth are like this also; Lord of the Rings likely appeals to our masculine nature in way that appeals to us as an animal and a divine creature bestowed higher consciousness/rationality by God. Good video as usual. If you read this I am honoured. Good luck finding Christ, I will pray for you.

These are children who's parents forced other kids to play with them their entire childhoods. They don't care that no one in the 40k community likes what they're doing. Mommy GW is putting out "We stand with [current agenda]" posts, so they feel special and part of it. Because they don't actually know how to integrate into a community.

@Hawaiian_Pizza_Enjoyer Says:
This reminds me of a quote from Alan Wake 1 *"A story is not a machine that does what you tell it. A story is a beast with a life of its own. You can create it, shape it, but as the story grows, it starts wanting things of its own. Change one thing, and you set off a chain reaction of events that spreads through the whole thing. The characters have to be true to themselves. The events need to follow a logic that fits the story. A single flaw and the magic is gone. The story dies. Alice dies."*

Wokeism is cultural entropy. I realiized that while watching your appearance on the Drinker. We are indeed always fighting a losing battle. It's so hard to resist and almost impossible to reverse because wherever it gains an inch, it destroys the structures that were there and doesn't replace them with anything. It doesn't build anything of its own either. Even if you could reclaim the ground, what worth would it be to you if everything that made it worthwhile had been broken down?

Without 'cannon' a franchise is just set of names. And there is no reason to choose that set of names over any other set of random names. Throw out the lore and cannon, and you throw out any reason to care about said franchise.
@MrLathor Says:
One thing that is very important to note is how utterly incapable these people are of producing their own compelling fiction or canon. They deliberately subvert existing fiction to fit their narrow selfish wants and needs because of how devoid of real creativity.

Many years ago I was working as a security guard in an office building. There was very little to do after hours, so I decided to introduce my female coworker to a game my brothers and I invented that required some artistic ability. The game involved drawing a picture of something, a puppy for instance, which your opponent will then draw something to destroy that which you will counter by drawing something to counter that and so on. One of the major rules is that you can’t draw something that can’t be defeated, a planet killing asteroid, a nuclear weapon, etc. it was going well until she drew the sun going supernova. When I told her that was against the rules she argued that it wasn’t. When I asked her how she could argue the rules of a game with the guy who invented it she said that if I could make up rules then she could too. That was the last time I played the game with her.
