It'll get btr bc decent ppl will want to go somewhere safe to have fun. This is yr 1. Good folks make other plans bc of how dangerous its been in the past. Now they'll see its safe and next yr they'll come. Sure businesses are suffering some rn, but when you factor in ppl getting killed, robbed and damage, which is worse? A lil lost money, or paying to fix damaged property and saving lives. Residents being safe is more valuable than a bar making 20% more

You can accomplish increased security by increasing the police presence. Armed officers walking around can keep honest people honest. The bad seeds might get out of line, but the response rate will be much higher. Now, this much be couched in the fact that these officers must be good officers. Let the people have fun, keep things under control. But they aren't brown shirts, they aren't there to crack skulls, just maintain the peace. Sometimes the cops are worse than the criminals. Not always, most officers are good people.

I’ve lived in Orlando my whole life. Never even been interested in going to Miami in all 25 years because it always just seemed so ghetto and “luxurious” (really just cheap crap but given a brand name kinda luxurious) at the same time. Maybe once it gets rid of that aspect I might consider the 4 hour drive.
