Folks if you really want to know some facts then please read what Garfield’s doctor did to him for fame! Garfield was put through the most ridiculous and most painful of attempts to cure him! Absolute horrific and disgusting! RIP Brother James

Beautiful job. He's on my list of the greatest presidents, the Adamses and T.R..

Came here after watching Chester Arthur video and this was dope . Garfield seemed like a great man !! He was a Swiss Army knife . Excelling in everything he put his mind to. I just googled him and Netflix series is in the works . I’m also curious on Roscoe Conkling that dude seems like a puppet master .

Win with only 8 thousand votes out of 9 million votes was amateur. Bush Jr. got minus 440 thousand votes in 2000. 😅
@AOT_HxH95 Says:
There is a statue of Garfield here in Cincinnati worth seeing. I had an ancestor who served in the Army of the Cumberland when Garfield was the Chief of Staff.

I'm sad they missed his adoption of "Decoration Day" which became the modern Memorial Day.
@RealityOrganized Says:
So is Garfield the one who gave us millions of civil servants who produce nothing, and can't be fired even if they don't come to work?
@RabbiKolakowski Says:
Alexander Graham Bell tried to find the bullet with a metal detector he invented, but the doctors would not let him check both sides .
@veganconservative1109 Says:
They 'forgot' to wash their hands. Just an 'accident'.
@Billy-cs4cc Says:
Shame they didn't wash their hands back then.

@seangriffin2053 Says:
You guys should create a whole documentary called "Presidents lost to History" or something. These are awesome.
@sunsettech4182 Says:
Basically, Garfield was murdered by the deep, permanent state. Just took another murdering asswipe related to jimmy kimmel to eliminate a good man.
@donriffle1634 Says:
As Garfield resigned as an Elder in the Church of Christ in 1881, he stated, “I resign the highest office in the land to become President of the United States”.
@rathofturkey Says:
I was wondering if that fact was going to be brought up about the doctors who treated Garfield. I heard that too. Had the president had more competent doctors, he probably would’ve lived a lot longer than he did.
@heathercurrier702 Says:
Thank you for educating us. I never knew any of that. It was so interesting and so sad that he lost his life.
@chaddisrud535 Says:
Why does Prager felate the federal government so much? Seriously, this video is propaganda to make Lincoln’s federal government look good. It was a treasonous group of cowardly crooks. Any Lincolnite was and is an enemy to the USA. The vast majority during the 1800’s were not civil rights advocates. The vast majority of Republicans in the 1800’s believed whites were the superior race and Lincoln spoke to this.
@TheAyeAye1 Says:
He was quite a fellow, and deserves to be better remembered.
@frankmaybury5292 Says:
Guiteau gave one speech in Garfield's favor Garfield had no clue who Guiteau was. Guiteau believed he was entitled to a cabinet position for giving one speech. this was not an assassination due to political patronage but a crazy man who had no reason to believe he would be considered for a position in the first place.
@76moxie Says:
He was s a distant relative of mine through the Bridge family. Fascinating
@Awakeandalive1 Says:
One of the greatest tragedies in the history of the U.S. Presidency...
@JMolKoz20791 Says:
After watching this i am in whole agreement that Civil service reform MUST happen for the exact reasons stated. Well done again PragerU i really enjoy these videos about my country's history 🙌🇺🇸

Loving these new historical videos. 👍🏼
@kungfugirevik657 Says:
I'm sure the assassin was just another "lone nut" and Garfield's death had nothing to do with installing his VP Chester Arthur, a backer of the Stalwart faction.
@ctadam12 Says:
The current dufus will go down as one of the worst to hold the office.
@imkluu Says:
I doubt much would have been different if he had a second term as Arthur after him did pretty much everything he would have done.
@costrio Says:
An interesting story. Johny Cash sang "Mr. Garfield" in the 60's era, as I recall. I'd always wondered why his assissination seems to be largely forgotten. (An obscure folk song?) Have we become inured to the frequency ofassassinations these days, I wonder.
@JPJ432 Says:
It was London who killed Garfield much like our other Presidents. Much like how they created the American civil war. The British (City of London) are the ones who created our divide in the first place to put brother against brother. After the war Lincoln wanted to rebuild the South and had plans to do so. He and half his Cabinet were assassinated by London. Many of the others that survived had multiple assassination attempts on them especially William Seward who had like a dozen or so, many almost killing him. Most of the Operations for the Civil War and post war plans and assassinations were made in London and then sent to Montreal a hub for spies and intel in the Americas for the British Empire then passed through to Confederate President Jefferson Davis to follow the orders. Many of the South's own leaders were selling out the South to British interest even General Lee. Unfortunately London had many of their Tentacles and Webs on both sides. Lincoln stated that the Department Of State is completely controlled by British Interest that he had to constantly fight against. It was in the 1870s that a Paradigm Shift happened were the British took control within the Reunited States through subversion (which was easy to do so as all their agents were brought back into the Union and a large part of their opposition killed) and have had it all the way up to this day. Some presidents fought against it like Garfield, McKinley, Harding, Roosevelt, and Kennedy and all were killed. If you read the very writings themselves from the people directly involved you get a Much different picture of history than if you listen to it from 3rd parties. Just like with what really happened in WW2 and what happened with FDR. One place to start is his son Elliot Roosevelts writings. FDR brought him along to his meetings especially the ones with Churchill and Stalin. He made sure Stalin and his son were well acquainted. Both FDR and Stalin did not trust Churchill at all. FDR has said on multiple occasion that Churchill/Londons goal is to both maintain the Empire and strengthen it. FDRs stated goal was to stop the Empires of Europe and make sure the colonies have their sovereignty. When FDR died Elliot Roosevelt met with Stalin and Stalin was quoted saying "it was Churchill and his gang who killed your father". Probably the best book to read on the subject is "The Clash of the Two Americas. The Unfinished Symphony" by Matthew Ehret. I have no affiliation with them but they also have an audiobook which can make it easier since not many people like to sit down and read anymore. It has multiple references on the bottom of each page of the book.

I think Civil Service Reform is a bit of a mixed legacy actually. While it's true something needed to be done about the corruption that was rampant in that era, the result today is a permanent bureaucracy that can't be fired.
@sjhoff Says:
The deep state strikes back.
@vansays2236 Says:
Really interesting!
@JackFalltrades Says:
Incompetence, corruption, serving the interests of one party. That sounds awfully familiar!
@shdwbnndbyyt Says:
There was ONE major advantage of the patronage system. EVERY bureaucrat from the postal worker to the cabinet had to reapply at the start of every new administration... so few were able to create a long term power structure. What we have now is millions of civil "servants" who basically cannot be fired, and get extremely generous pay, health care and pensions. Close to 40% or more of our country's 'GDP" is unproductive govt work.. work that makes life harder for most US citizens.
@ReasonablySkeptic Says:
SO 3 Republican presidents have been assassinated and 1 Democrat? Seems like a pattern. Let's hope Trump isn't the 4th.
@BenHopkins1000 Says:
Damn you, Curse of Tippecanoe!
@jamesrobinson9176 Says:
Actually it's appropriate to talk about now. Civil service reform would be great!
@vuchaser99 Says:
Garfield may have had the highest intelligence of any president as well. I wonder how close he would have been in demeanor as Silent Cal
@marymagmartha7453 Says:
Perhaps with a little indepth research, I can determine if the Civil Service Reform Act during Carter can explain why we now have almost 3M Federal/Senior Executive Service employees that can't seem to find anything with both hands and a keyboard‼️ FOIA request all but ignore when its the other half of the UniParty about to be exposed...while everything else seems to be "Leaked"...
@thanksfernuthin Says:
Wow. I didn't know any of this stuff about president Garfield. A great segment.
@JensHove Says:
You spelled Ron Paul wrong.
@captnhuffy Says:
Nah. ***Ron Paul was the Greatest President we never had***
@bradkeeney5236 Says:
Thanks
@Mister_Matt_X Says:
I still can't believe that Garfield only served only one term as president... I wonder what could've been if his assassination didn't happen...
