I understand that the program (hopefully) presented the “text message” in a familiar smart phone text bubble for aesthetics, but we didn’t exactly write whole essays 20 years ago. EVEN if this was like 2008 and they both had “Sidekick” phones, and some magic texting plan that bypassed the 140-200 character SMS limit (which is responsible for Twitter’s character limit, since early twitter had people “text” their tweets), or if the program presented several text messages as one, IT STILL would be WAY less verbous, and would have wayyyy more “literary shortcuts” than just “you -> u” and “you’re -> ur”.
