I am a Somali 🇸🇴, Thanks for honsety and empathy. "Piracy won't go away as long as the ingredients that have always fueled it exist" 🙏
@bakmyster Says:
Funny how the narrative I've always heard was that Somali bad
@tanermishler8564 Says:
10:05 i get the sentiment but would you call it harmless if your boss told you to go fish in a certain area and some men held you hostage by gunpoint for 5 days?
@jameslorain1122 Says:
If everybody would have just let him the fucked up loan they would have never done this
@RockyMountains0721 Says:
So you mean real pirates are not like Captain Jack Sparrow? You mean that real pirates are brutal and coldblooded criminals who you want absolutely nothing to do with?
@obrogboalexeyaife9207 Says:
Did anyone wonder what the secret weapon shipment was gonna be used for once they get to Sudan?
@axmedcabdullahi3097 Says:
We don’t call them pirates but we call them coast guard . The real pirates are those crossed continent to lure and steal illegal fishing in our sea 🌊
@liyab.6617 Says:
Great but you blame clan leaders, but not American interventionism and the role of foreign governments conspiring to keep somalia weak and divided. Be for real
@liamfisher4191 Says:
Instead of pouring into the west ....Africa needs to take responsibility for its problems of corruption and lack of co operation with each other.

Gimme a break - criminal activity is criminal activity. Now - just because its criminal, is it unjustified? Thats the question. Are peasant farmers in S.America justified in growing coca? People aren't going to just starve - criminals are not going to ignore lucrative targets. Sounds to me like it created an economy in Somalia where there was none - because of outside exploitation. I won't lionize these men - but I won't judge them either. These ships are not, in fact, helpless - you saw how they reacted. And now the problem has largely gone away as a result. Police and Thieves - point counter-point - its been going on since forevor.

Everything is useless talk.. Russia early 2950’s.. learned about this problem.. the cure???.. machine-GUNs.. with an attitude.. 24/7 watch they just blew. The Pirate out of the water then fish food.. no pirates no more… easy.. but obese greedy media has no story… your fault Johnny.. you lack historical knowledge… study The Fat Electrician (Nick)..

“The Fall” chapter was a big part of why I subscribed, love your ability to present both sides of a resolution. There’s almost always winners and losers that are completely uninvolved from anything in life.

Logically if they stopped paying the ransom money then they would stop kidnapping, or they’d just murder everyone

As a Somali Nigerian this video made my anus pucker❤️❤️
@sellomogare6635 Says:
I love this video. And I agree with you that there is no moral justification for piracy. However, this story is grossly incomplete for as long as illegal dumping and the general exploitation of Africa by the West is dealt with as a by-the-way.
@asrr62 Says:
I guess i was robbed at sea in texas
@pinheadlarry1327 Says:
At one point it was understandable, and then it became criminal.
@drgauravkumar317 Says:
Same as British
@AAMM101 Says:
Illegal waste dumping should be a crime. The people affected there, might not be white like y'all, but they're human beings.
@andybricky1927 Says:
A very good and balanced view of the subject.

20:20 When u said WESTENERS it reminded Dr.Jaishankar's quote on western countries. Europe has to "grow out of the mindset that its problems are the world’s problems," but the world's problems are not automatically Europe's.
