I have no love for teacher unions. Over the last couple of years, I have heard numerous examples of the unions dictating what will be taught in schools, even in violation of what the governor of that state has stated what will not be taught, namely the woke, CRT, DEI agendas. The governor acts on behalf of their citizens, or the majority thereof. These unions have too much power, or perceived power, and they need to be put back in their place. I guess I would give them more creedence if they had much better results. We throw way too much money into education as a first world nation, to achieve third world results.

Sure, the State standards may permit and even have a nod to religion in the curriculum, but the pedagogy of the majority of teachers is to limit the discussion of Christianity and the Bible to a 20 minute read of the text versus a week or more of religions, for example Hinduism, with expanded activities, novels, and projects.

Transition all elementary schools to charter schools and let parents choose where their child attends. The money for that child should follow the child. Schools teaching beliefs contrary to parents beliefs would have very few students. Schools should function as employees of the parents, not enemies.
