I couldn’t have imagined having these types of things available as a child that was instantly accessible to me anywhere and at anytime. It’s unbelievable what people have access to now and sickening on why they won’t use it.

The only problem is history is faux false writing by murdering victors
@carlosfierro1916 Says:
This generation has it, but they don't use it because they're too busy bitching about everything, being offended and debating if they're a man, a woman or a penguin.

We had maps as kids. It was great. They were beautiful, with photos, and we interacted with them. We understood, if we chose to. Sadly many didn't...

It really puts into context how “small” the world is today… those distances are insane for a boat averaging a fast walking pace and full of men dying from diseases and starvation, and having no clue what is even on the other side of the journey or if they’ll live to see it. Now, you can literally book a flight, research your destination and learn the language on just your phone… you can travel to another country in less time than it took to raise an anchor back then! Literally… it took hundreds of men sometimes half a day to raise the massive anchors on those ships because they were so heavy. Those dudes are cranking away for hours and I’m already stepping off the air conditioned plane into an Uber where I’ll drive to a house I booked on my phone in another country a few hours ago… that’s insane!

Wow Johnny, I’ve watched a few of your episodes ms but really feel like I learned a lot about YOU as you discussed Joe Rogan. Much appreciated. I’m conservative - I love well-researched information sources who refer to error as a “cardinal sin.” Happy to have watched this episode. :)

I've been reading some things about Spain and the American provinces in your website. You still apply the anglosaxon concept of colonies. Spain incorporated those territories as provinces, not colonies. I've been reading very little in your website. But I'd like to add that in the chapter about 1546, the silver mining, Spain didn't use black slaves. That slavery was prohibited in the Tordesilla treaty, 1494, and only Portugal had black slaves. Yes, Spain was the first country in the world to forbid slavery.

Maybe it would be better if the angle of the globe wasn’t so shallow, hard to tell what you’re looking at if you aren’t familiar with it.

I remember 30 years ago, if you wanted to learn about “math,” you had to follow the river to the nearest city and find a local arithmetician . . Now everything is available on this “Google” 😶‍🌫️ younger generations have no idea how good they have it
