Is that reporter really saying a woman has to be taught differently than a man? Port, starboard, fore and aft are pretty basic concepts to learn equality has bugger all to do with that. Now the Captain is responsible for their ship even when off duty so it’s not wrong to say that this ships captain is at fault however they ain’t steering the ship nor are they at the navigation station there will be lots of people to blame. Unless the ship did suffer power loss and it got pushed off course. If the captains command of the ship is found wanting then sorry Commander Gray deserves to lose her command just like any other captain would. If the vessel suffered a failure then as with any other captain no blame should be assigned to her. As for saying Captain Gray is not a hero for abandoning when she did, that’s to be determined.
