But actual safety has gone up. Crime statistics across the board have been dropping in almost every country in the world. The reason why people feel unsafe is A. Because they see the worst of the world online. This is an infohazard. If they don't know about bad things happening they can't be afraid of it. And B. The way the streets are designed. Large urban sprawls where big yards are behind tall fences, roads are broad and eyes on the street are few, they feel lonely. So no, it's not an army of immigrants. It's the fact that your uncle posts video's of immigrants doing bad stuff on twitter. Scapegoat the government instead when they want to build a 12 lane highway overpass next to your house instead of a pedestrian street with cafes and boutiques.>> <<@sundayjones5346 says : life just feels empty with nothing improving day by day 😢>> <<@henryweinand8672 says : gotta love the random blame on socialism instead of capitalism.>> <<@EastCoastMan603 says : I can’t believe you articulated this in a video the same time a lot of us are thinking this. “Economic zones need to be maintained”. Factories... coalmines, clock in, clock out, 12 hour shifts for a pittance of pay, horrible afflictions, tiny, cold and damp back to back terraced houses...it's so much better now in many ways. If you're hinting at the fairly recent decline of Britain (as you showed a 70's looking clip of people dancing round a maypole etc) that's simple, it's what I think you are skirting round and avoiding...too many foreigners and no identity for anybody, indigenous or other.>> <<@vahe9582 says : Having McDonald's, the place that serves the equivalent of industrial waste as food, as an example of a beautiful place to spend time with family seems pretty ridiculous. I agree our current world is a dystopian one, but I feel like the video could've had better/more examples to show it (altho adding more would've made the vid longer so, not a big deal). The biggest things I would've mentioned directly would be the nature of late stage capitalism, the environment and/or Global superpowers abusing their power, as some of the things that cause this dystopian feeling.>> <<@RossBirch-c4e says : Same reason nobody likes zombie movies anymore after 2020's shenanigans>> <<@filipnr1 says : This vid tries to be deep but it misses>> <<@saragutkowska1332 says : What you show as proof of the dystopia are just Maya veils falling down, revealing us what the world has always been, not what is becoming. Throughout all history there's always been a dominant class and a dominated one. What was simply done in the 20th century was to keep workers satisfied enough to produce and reproduce; a very delicate balance that nowadays' ruling class tends to disrupt in the name of production and constant growth. We've always been animals in cages, with painted landscapes all around to make us believe we're free. On top of this, this sugar coated bubble was valid only for few places in the world, and with some simple observation skills and a history book you could easily notice how the distopia constantly dislocated throughout the world.>> <<@jamesofallthings3684 says : No shit. That would I am sure happen in many communities, be they rural and also urban in some cases. It's reassuring for us all to think that those in most need would be checked on and looked after, and that we give where needed the most. But if we were hit with a very large scale disaster such as a **Major Nuclear Exchange or EMP...Electro-Magnetic Pulse**... and everything went critical very quickly without any official help on the horizon...you had better hide your chickens and cover up your veg garden and lock up your preps, because civilisation and society would quickly become hell on earth. That good neighbour that you gave some tinned food and candles to? well when they are desperate enough, they would kill you for what you have and what they don't have...seriously. If you have faith in people whatever, well good luck to you. But remember & just take a look at what happened to people in the Warsaw ghetto during WW2...friends, neighbours. even family betraying each other to the SS Nazi's. Telling the SS that the neighbour had an illegal radio in their attic (in exchange for half a loaf of bread from the SS) Whilst fully aware that those betrayed would be lined up in the main square next morning and shot. You think people would not be the same now? They were once civilised people too...check how many made it out alive at the end of the war my friend.>> <<@po0p0op33p3e says : capitalism has rottened our moral compass>> <<@N91-m7v says : how cooked in the head (and racist) do you have to be haha>> <<@Elliot-T says : Meh, if you believe the world's fucked, then yours will be.>> <<@ACatHandler says : I read a study recently that the immigrants they're bringing in to have kids and replace us aren't having kids... they're living in the same conditions as us and deciding that it might not be a good idea to bring a kid into this world. Studies had been made in the 1970's showing that these colors make people feel uncomfortable and the fast food industry was designed with a "get them in and get them out quickly" mentality. The play facilities were a nod to accommodating the kids but they didn't want the families staying for any serious length of time as it interfered with selling and serving as many customers as possible. In the 90's and early 2000's you began to see more calming decor and color choices. The fast food chains had probably done their own studies and decided that the drive up and sit down dining experience experiences were two different animals and accordingly made changes. I think that the reasoning for the current Proletariat decor is precisely as you describe. It also allows for easier cleaning..................Karl>> <<@Lvcy1 says : There's a reason Masons dont allow woman in their meets. Absolutely zero hope for it. Humans are a social creature and it just feels like any aspect of society that facilitates that is being eradicated. A couple of decades ago i would have said that socialising is what you do when a customer walks up to your till and demands service from you but tills are becoming redundant now. I will say there are studies on how to mitigate environmental overstimulation for children and individuals with disabilities. A large portion of this studies call for calmer colors, more light, straight lines, and more uniform environments. Do I think this is a solution? no.
