A potential office holder state the policies they support during the campaign, but for several reasons They seldom get anywhere. But a person with character, good character, can generally be counted on the work for the good of the country and it's people. When thing are difficult, they will make better decisions than the person who has a slick platform of policy ideas, but doesn't have the character needed to do what is right. You can almost ignore the policies candidates claim to support. They are so seldom acted on that it is now a cultural stereotype that politicians will tell any lie to get elected. Judging someone's character is hard in the best cases. People can wear a mask to deceive us, like Fetterman did. But by looking back at their history, at the things they do and the words they say, gives you a string of clues. The longer the record, the harder it is to maintain the deception. Being good comes natural, acting good takes effort. With Walz, we can judge his policies by his record in the House and his time as Governor. His character exudes from him. His folksy charm and affability are evident, but testimonies from his associations through the years as coach and teacher speak volumes. Vance's record in the Senate also speaks for his policies. His statements during this campaign tell you about his character. He has no grounding principle, his beliefs change depending on the situation. His epic flip flop from never trumper to Trump's running mate shines a light on the kind of person he is, and the kind of leader he wouldn't be. He views lying as a tool to use to direct media attention in his preferred direction, regardless of who those lies hurt. He is all about this desperate grab for power and fame.
