It's honestly quite magnificent that such a severely self-assured man is utterly incapable of comprehending why a rule that says you cannot create an investment fund that excludes investing in firms that use fossil fuels is good for our nation. Essentially, if you allow foreign or domestic investment firms to gatekeep investment capital behind rules that inherently slow or otherwise attenuate the maximum possible production output of the company they are investing in, then painfully obviously, you will slow or otherwise attenuate that company's maximum possible production output. Legitimately, anyone who has passed even the most rudimentary economics class ever in their life sees how obvious this is... Let's say your company makes video games, and your investor tells you that you can't hire based on who would make the best video game, but instead, you have to make sure that the people you hire check some demographic boxes. In an effort to keep your company going, you will submit to the demands of the investors, which will result in you producing an inferior product, that will endanger the company and, thus, the livelihood of everyone working at that company because nobody will buy your game. Anyone who has invested in the video game industry can tell you this is a story that has been shutting down piles of dozens of video game studios in the last several years. Not everybody plays video games, so let's look at something people can relate to a little better. Let's say your company makes food and you need some money, but that same investor from earlier says you must not use fossil fuels to make your products. In an effort to keep your company going, you will submit to the demands of the investors, which will result in you producing the same product less efficiently, which means that your cost to make the product will go up, and since there is very little margin on food that means that you have to raise the price of the food you sell. So you end up with the current situation that all of us, including all of Cenk's listeners, deal with when we buy groceries. Which is the main reason groceries are so expensive. Kamala would tell you that we will just put price ceilings on the groceries to combat this, but Kamala telling you that you can't sell your product above a specific price doesn't affect how efficiently you make that product, so people consume your product faster than you can make more of it. Since Kamala will do that to you and all the other people making food, it will result in our country literally eating up all the food faster than we can make food, which means the poor people will lose access to any and all types of food, this is called creating a "food desert". Ultimately, this all boils down to people like Cenk saying that he feels that creating policies that result in Americans not being able to afford food and mass-producing food deserts in the poorest communities in our nation is totally worth to him because Cenk and people like Cenk being able to tell their friends at parties that they are morally superior because they only invests in these woke investment firms is infinitely more important than the suffering and starvation of all of our fellow Americans.>> <<@roncomyns2581 says : Why do they call publicly traded private companies "public companies"? Introducing special interests as a taxpayer funded institution is more brazenly invidious than would be more subtle means of giving them influence. What it shows is sheer *_contempt_* for the public, an attitude so dismissive as no longer to reckon it worthwhile even to _pretend_ that we are the government.
