this is also the reason why the US has kept most WW2 weapons, specifically incase an EMP did go off, lets hope not but it's always best.... to hope for the best and prepare for the worst (don't fear monger but having some storage of supplies doesn't hurt either)

Great content as always! If you're looking to explore these topics even further, we actually produced an award-winning documentary called Grid Down Power Up - Documentary, narrated by Dennis Quaid, that dives deep into these issues. It’s available for free on our channel, and you might find it really insightful. We also have some resources on our website for taking action, like contacting legislators and public utilities. Please help us spread the word!

There was a company that did a study to determine how strong a pulse has to be to affect cars. From what I remember about their findings is that at a survivable distance from a weapon did not render automotive electrical systems inoperative. While it did momentarily interrupt the function of some systems on some vehicles, the cars were fine when they were re-started. The implication is that a random bit shift occurred in one or more registers on the ECU; but it did not permanently damage the devices. In the case of power lines, the lengths of the transmission lines play into the fear. I suppose the idea is that power lines, or even the wiring in buildings, acts as a coil in a transformer - the spike may be large enough to trigger circuit protection devices like breakers/fuses, and gfis, etc. Maybe, but most of these work of temperature of some specifically shaped bi-metal device... I'm guessing it would cause problems; but not a complete failure. It would most certainly not be like it's depicted in the movies.

This would send us back to 1700 instantly. Panic, looting and crime would prevent truckers and workers from repairing the electrical grid making this last possibly years. Ammo would be depleted as we would be fighting each other. Food is gone as it’s consumed but not replaced. Our enemy would then just simply more right on in.

As far as the doom and gloom assessments go, 45 Million Americans lived rural lives in 1900, mostly unassisted by electrical technology. Assuming all electrical gizmos broke in a single day, we would still have access to all animal power, and all of our other tools that don't run on electricity. The first thing people would do is retrofit existing automobiles to bypass or replace their electrical needs. Also, faraday cages are real, so many people will likely have working modern automobiles and auto parts.

If our government has known this since 2001 and has sent trillions to other countries, I’d say that’s treason. Let’s leave the home front vulnerable without finding a solution and business as usual while we send all their money all over the world sometimes to their enemies. Like what??

I’m not through the entire video but, why , since knowing about EMP danger, hasn’t the government not taken measures to protect our electrical system. There are things that could be done. Also, your video mentions a report referencing NC as a survival location. A large part of that area was just hit by a hurricane. Sadly, there appears to be too many coincidences. As R. R. said, “ I’m from the government and I’m here to help. “ Sadly, I don’t think they are. All the best, Hal

Everything said in this video is accurate. I've been a nuclear reactor operator/technician in the US Navy and worked in an experimental physics plasma laboratory for several years. When I first heard about nuclear EMPs, I immediately knew that such an event would be literally an existential threat to the country(s) receiving the attack... specifically the United States. The 2020 US census estimated that 80% of Americans live in urban areas. An EMP would render inoperable every machine and service in an affected urban area... No computerized anything, which means no automatic climate control (HVAC), no gasoline, no transportation, no refrigeration, no water. The immediate threat (within days) would be either exposure due to no HVAC or severe dehydration due to no water. People surviving that would face starvation within a week. After that, the streets would be littered with corpses which would foster epidemic level disease. Relief efforts would be slow in coming because of the damaged logistics involved for the relief suppliers (e.g. distance, deterioration of roads, bands of marauders, etc.) The reality is that all Western societies have become so dependent on electrically driven automation that almost no-one not currently working a farm is capable of surviving the overnight descent into pre-industrial "technology" that would result from an EMP attack. It really is that bad

<<@fredalyons8580
says :
Nuclear isn’t the only threat. EMPs also come from the sun. The sun could do even more damage worldwide than any nuclear bomb as the sun is the ultimate nuclear device. If the Carrington Event type in 1859 happened today it would possibly take 2 years to even begin repairs as the parts needed are mostly manufactured in Germany and China.

WE need an EMP net. Honestly, we need to configure a solution to this issue. We also know that any country that did this would face the same fate. I don't think any leader is that suicidal. In addition, corporate interests are not contained within borders anymore. If the USA machine stopped working, so would so many Elites financial investments. This chessboard is not as clearly defined as it appears. The machine needs to run for the money to move. I think the game is much more complex than we realize.
