Thing is, you, either walked or hitched a ride to that job. No one sent a bus to get you there. Didn't have a car and bikes were stolen,even if locked to a pole or rack. Had good health, so took only path available to us boys - joined/enlisted/put life on the line to spend next 4yrs. Ended up staying at it for 22yrs. Probably would have been different if saw another path. Thing is, white, brown, or whatever, most of us 40plus yrs ago and still don't have a wealthy family to grease the path for us.
