Where I live it wasn't until 1980 that an old law meant for ing your wife to have sex wasn't rape. Also I can't remember if it was here or England that it was legal for a man to beat his wife as long as the stick was not wider than some measurement and a walking cane or those used in our high schools till the 80s were within that range. This is the first country in the world to give all women the vote regardless of culture. Then there is the old lock them up in an asylum if the become a burden. As most doctors and psychiatrists were men or women acting would oblige. A lot of sexual and physical violence happened and of course they couldn't prevent it. Over here a psychiatrist by law whether they are good or not can make an order for a person to be locked up until they deem them well enough to leave. But our grandparents owned big houses with land and had enough room for 9 people to live under 1 roof. And they did it all with just 1 salary. A laborer's salary at that. We both work full time jobs and pay rent, living in a duplex for $1,300 per month. We want a house, but refuse to pay triple the price these homes were just a few years ago. Our grandmothers loved their lives. They didn't take depression medication or have panic attacks. They hung out with other women every day. They took care of their homes, but they also had commonality and bonds with their fellow homemakers that lived in their neighborhood. They knew every single person on a 1st name basis in their neighborhood. They knew each other's children. They shopped together. They decorated and celebrated holidays together. They did seasonal activities together. They helped each other with babies. They hung out and until the day they died they all seemed to love sitting outside in their chairs while drinking ice tea 😆. But it looked like they had a great life. They were clearly happy and I definitely wish we hadn't lost the things that made them the greatest generation. Because this country now is a cesspool compared to what it was in their time. They were also moral, upstanding citizens who went to church on Sunday and cared about their country, never shied away from being dutiful, and they were the glue to the safe and wholesome communities that they lived in. So yes, I agree, whoever is responsible for all this "progress" needs to be shamed into oblivion for destroying what used to be the American dream.>> <<@LVM5584 says : I’ve never met a feminist who was happy. It's a man's world. Ego vs emotions. She starts to imagine coming home to peace and tidiness. And a man who will be a friend. Why not? Just turn on the TV. Ever see anyone cleaning the toilet, folding towels or mopping floors? Not unless its advertising. And 95% of the time its a woman. She didn't leave her best job to be a housewife. She watched tv. Such a comfy life she will have. Appreciation and maybe a career too. What a crock. Who runs the tv industry......they do. Women need to get real! Stop tearing each other down and respecting each other. Honestly, women have failed to demand fairness and protection. I hold men accountable. Call me a feminist.
