Now, most of the people living on the street here in London, Ontario, are living there because of their own inability to take control of their lives, and I'm not trying to reduce their responsibility in the state of their lives. There are jobs a factories all over Ontario that hire foreigners because many Canadians have decided that sitting around all day in a tent or government-provided housing is preferrable to working hard for something. And don't get me started on the real estate industry in Canada. Foreigners are often talked about in the context of the housing crisis, but I've seen more than enough rotten Canadians in the housing industry. Look, I feel for people in terrible situations, but drug users who aren't trying to apply themselves anymore are simply just going to be homeless. Things have been hard forever. Sometimes they get easier, other times more difficult. We either adapt, or we fall. Unfortunately many homeless in Hamilton are choosing to be homeless based on their actions.
