He stayed with the same woke policies of Parks Canada to let nature take its course. Steven Guilbeault is very busy attending the annual general meeting of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED), along with representatives of the United Nations? Perhaps he should be focused on Canadian issues? Mr Gilbeault's background is being an eco-zealot. Worked for anti-fossil fuels organizations like Greenpeace and Équiterre. What actually makes him qualified to be the Minister of the Department of the Environment and Climate Change? Climbing the CN tower or putting solar panels on Ralph Klein's home? The current Liberal government seems to have a lot of Cabinet ministers that have questionable qualifications. A Minister of Finance who has a degree in Ukrainian Languages?Other cabinet Ministers that have side businesses. Maybe that is why the Liberals have spent $21 billion on consultants. They don't have a clue on what to do. The facts are the Provincial Government of Alberta was the one that increased its firefighting budget by 50% for 2024. As the Jasper wildfire became out of control the Alberta Premier made sure Alberta firefighters were at the ready to step in and fight the wildfire. When the city of Yellowknife was threatened by a massive forest fire in 2023 they asked the federal government for help. The federal government could not act in time. It was the mining companies in the Yellowknife area that stepped in with the help of local residents and went into action to create massive fire breaks and erected a sprinkler system in record time to protect the city.
