These were the max 8s that crashed in Indonesia and Ethiopia I believe. This was due to a new avionics feature added which lowered the nose if there is not enough airspeed during takeoff. Allegedly the air speed indicators were bad and this caused the nose to continually push down. Both planes crashed in very similar manner shortly after takeoff diving into the ground.

I'm shocked that he used the phrase "... that Boeing would agree to." At what point did the wants of a felon become a negotiating point? E.g. "I'm sorry, your honor, I don't agree to 20 years jail. How about time served?" The whole point is to IMPOSE a penalty that will either A) recompense the victims B) prevent reoccurrence C) remove the felon from society if they won't reform It's not supposed to be acceptable to the perp. Minimum in this case: Boeing cannot operate as a business for 5 years, but must pay out it's (non-executive) staff who are innocent of wrongdoing all wages for that period.

Mechanics build aircraft by Engineering specifications. The planes are designed by engineers. Who approves the designs for manufacturing? Always wondered this. Not the board members. The designs are tested by test engineers? The designs worked during testing.

<<@Steelaworkn

Sad. While Airbus is thriving in this country, the Feds are attacking Boeing. I'd much rather fly on a Boeing plane than an Airbus, any day. Nobody goes after the Repair Stations. It's just all attacking Boeing. Repair stations are at fault for most if not all the recent issues, but do not get investigated. Just Boeing. As far as the earlier crashes regarding the 737Max, nobody talks about pilot error and the refusal of extra pilot training by these 3rd world airlines. The training was there for them, they simply did not opt in for it. Very little is talking about that. Either you can fly or you can't. Anyone with the money can buy one of these airplanes. And if your country blesses you with a pilot's license, then you are allowed to fly....but can you fly...really? There has always been extra Boeing Training for every new plane on the market. Do these 3rd world Airlines purchase it. Lots of buttons on the dashboard. Do they know what these do? The 787 is an amazing airplane and if the airline refuses the extra training, one of these just might crash as well. All the new Boeing lineup of A/Ps have new tech and new controls and buttons to master. When you step onto the flight deck of one of these new Jets, you have stepped into the future. LEDs, Fiber Optics etc. Lots of new stuff. If the Airlines refuse the training, they are on their own. Why should the manufacturer be held responsible for training that was refused? This is public knowledge. Very few media outlets picked this stuff up. Just Boeing Bad Airbus Good.

there is a show called air disasters. they are true stories of plane crashes and the investigations that figured out the cause. this isnt the first second third fourth or 15th time boeing has gotten away with this. or all the times that the FAA has turned a blind eye to something they knew was a fatal design flaw on an airliner until it becomes publicly known usually via a disaster like a plane crash.
