Secondly, journalists being banned from the area, due to active airstrikes, again could certainly be something nefarious, but it could also be that the military has so many areas marked to have bombed or enaged by their armored division, that its just not safe for journalists to be there. Again, if they have to tip them off every time like "hey, clear out of this zone, because we'll be attacking there today" that information could be leaked to the opposition, which is something you would naturally want to avoid.
