Worked fantastic for my parents and my own children, and I'm grateful. They are now well rounded and productive adults with healthy and happy young children of their own. I emulated my parents. I know some families where it's the father at home raising the children because the wife makes an income that can support it. It works for them. I know that's hardly "trad" but having one of the parents with "skin in the game" with their children's care, is far preferable to releasing them into the world basically unprotected while both parents are doing a 9 to 5. Some people HAVE to, some people WANT to, so they can have more "stuff".
